Honestly, at this point WB is going full retard. I maybe in the minority here, but I am still pissed they diverted from the Superman Returns storyline, and Brandon Routh as Superman, who I thought was perfectly cast, and played the part perfectly. Man of Steel was just some 300 (which I love) action porn that made no sense from any Superman lore (one example off the top of my head, walking away from a gas station on fire with people around, how about blowing it out?).

I cant stand the direction Superman took, and I hope it goes out with a fizzle, WB loses there asses on it, and they are forced to sell DC rights to Disney, who then gets to produce DC movies henceforth. One can dream.

Ben Affleck as Batman, I am not seeing it. I like Ben in a few films, not to mention I like him as a person from what I have seen/read/heard about him. Daredevil, however, was such a terrible movie, and it probably wouldn't have mattered who was in it, it still would have been bad, but Ben's acting in that movie was also cringe-worthy. I am glad for him, because he will get paid.

And DC wonders why they can't compete with the marvel movie universe.

That's the thought a LOT of people had about RDJ & Iron Man before actually seeing a trailer or the movie itself. He was looked at as a goofball. What the fuck was Marvel thinking? Now the entire Marvel movie universe (avengers related) is based on his blockbuster of a film.
???

I don't know one person that said that. As someone who was a big Iron Man fan as a kid, I grinned when I heard RDJ would be him. They are so alike.

Yea Xar, can you please cite your sources for that opinion. I thought RDJr was perfect for the role of Tony Stark.

Yeah, I may have been on the other end of the spectrum from Lyrical and Caliane on Man of Steel, but we're all in perfect agreement about RDJ. I think just about any casual comic book fan that knew anything about Iron Man pretty much smacked their forehead and said, "Jesus, why didn't I think of that?" He was perfect before he even stepped on the set.

As far as Affleck...all I can do is laugh. I'm not a fan, but I can admit he hasn't been horrible in every thing he's done...he's just not the fucking Batman. I've never been a big Batman fan, but since he's in almost every DC book anyway I have read enough to know what I expect, and I hope for good things because I really want to see a Justice League movie with a Wonder Woman that beats some motherfuckers down, Flash that kicks ass, Aquaman that isn't a faggot, etc. Affleck being the Batman to anchor that franchise with Superman just doesn't inspire me with confidence. Maybe we'll all be pleasantly surprised, but I wouldn't put any money on it.

It makes me chuckle that anytime a questionable casting decision turns into brilliance that proves that no casting decision can be doubted. I don't see Afleck playing a good Batman but I guess I don't really care that much given how much good Batman shit has come out in the last decade.

yeah, this is just hilarious.

Honestly, I'm not one to completely throw out any possibility... But my already low expectations, certainly got even lower.

Jimmies were at maximum rustle when Ledger was announced for Joker, and look how that turned out.

While I am very uncertain of Affleck's ability to pull it off, I will withhold judgement until I see the damned thing.

On Ledger I was in neutral opinion on the casting. I will admit though he fucking knocked it out of the park and then some. I never expected that performance. At the same time though, Heath Ledger did not have the hit or miss resume that Ben has. At least IMO.

SR would have been a lot better without the creepy stalking and the illegitimate son. Beyond that, Routh and Bosworth had 0 vibe...Bosworth herself was just plain and unlikable. They did have two good ideas in SR. Namely, Routh and Supes catching a 747 or whatever it was. The rest of the movie was shit.

The new Supes had some really cool ideas, but totally blew the implementation. It made money hands over fist, so expect more crap in a shit wrapper.

I'll reserve judgment until I see it. At first I was okay with it, then annoyed, then I was meh about it. After going back and forth on it last night and today I refuse to be upset about it until after I see it. I'm not going to have the mindset that something will suck before I go see it, what's the point other then ruining the movie for yourself before you even watch it?
