I'll reserve judgment until I see it. At first I was okay with it, then annoyed, they I was meh about it. After going back and forth on it last night and today I refuse to be upset about it until after I see it. I'm not going to have the mindset that something will suck before I go see it, what's the point other then ruining the movie for yourself before you even watch it?
It'll be fine so long as Emma Watson is cast as Harley, and Emily Blunt is cast bare naked.

I am shocked to find out people like The Town.
As a movie, it was neither here nor there. Certainly not bad by any measure. Surprising in that Affleck directed it, because I thought the guy couldn't make toast without fucking it up. Argo was incredibly directed.

Too bad the fucker is Batman, though.

I'm shocked to find out people don't. Honestly, I'll attribute it to Affleck hate. Put anyone else in that role and people would've been arguing whether it was better than Heat for bank heist movies.
Heat was awesome. The Town is ok. Not comparable.

Impossible to believe that Portman was so young in that film.

maybe the hate comes from Gigli and the other bullshit he did with Jenny from the block
but the town is quite good.

Seems relevant:

The Internet is a communication device that allows people the world over to bitch about movies and share pornography with one another. It is full of militant movie buffs: sad bastards who live in their parents' basements, downloading scripts and trading what they believe to be inside info about movies and actors they despise yet can't stop discussing. It is where you go if you wanna hear frustrated would-be filmmakers mouth off with their two-bit, arm-chair-director's opinions on how they all could've made a better Batman Vs. Superman.

I dunno why you guys keep saying The Town was Ben's best movie, any actual movie fan knows it was Paycheck.

I actually thought he was good as Daredevil. So I'm ok with this. It should be noted I dont really care too much about the film so if it blows, oh well.

I will say I too was beyond skeptical about casting a queer cowboy to play the joker and I was beyond impressed. As long as aflek stays in the cowl and doesn't have a Boston accent I think it will be better than clooney or kilmer.... Not that the bar is set very high in those instances.

The Ledger casting comparison is completely overblown. Ledger's relative fame to Affleck's at their respective points of their career when cast, as well as the sample size of said career. There are enough movies staring Affleck that we're all pretty well aware of his range. Frankly, I think the better comparison was when Bale was cast as Batman. I know he was thought of as a much better actor than Affleck is now, but it still wasn't a universally applauded casting either. The difference is Batman franchise had nowhere to go but up from there.
