100% agreed - not even sure I would go back as much if it comes back - the software here is better and there is no drek - just a matter of getting comfortable posting in other areas. I will say this - and it is funny saying it to you due to history - but it is much different in that there are more mega threads that stay active and not so many new threads being posted everyday - just a different feel for it all.

yeah thanks.theres a reason i didnt talk about this stuff on the misc.too many idiots. believe it or not i got a buddy in Canada that bought some Tamehaganae steel and is trying to replicate a traditional katana. i dont have the heart to tell him its next to impossible but he spent the money and is trying. me? i just want to own one and say its mine.its like $15,000 minimum for a good quality sword. what they also dont tell you is these swords are usually at least 200 years old. you would never guess it cause they are stunning. also they can literally cut a person in half. thats how they tested them.by cutting prisoners in half. DED FKN SRS BRUTALITY!

that's awesome. I've been meaning to start shopping for a bearded axe but there are so many forges now I don't really know which are legit and which are just some hobby-cel. Probably doesn't matter, it's gonna hang on the wall but I want to know that I could use it if I wanted to.

why don't you just commission a dude to make one for you?

you can usually even arrange it so that you can see some process of it being made, these traditional swordsmiths live in bum fuck no where many live near the coast and mountains (in the mountains b/c thats where they set up shot centuries ago and near the coast b/c thats where the metal is found, it's just sand dirt)

an axe? hmm yeah there are so many options. you want a specific wood handle? a carbon steel axe head? the good news is that you can have exactly what you want for relatively cheap.im not an expert on axes but im gonna go on a limb and say you can probably get what you want in the $2000 range depending on the materials you want. axes are so easy to make you should make one yourself. seriously. decide what wood you want. actually sorry. the tools are actually the hardest part. i wouldnt be surprised if theres a smith or whatever that would let you you use there stuff for a rental fee and even better teach and apprentice you. you just never know. im almost positive i could get some dudes by me that would do it. unfortunately im looking for the holy grail. i have no choice but to go to japan.glad i got the juices flowing.i got something i gotta take care of but i can definitely help you get that axe you want. theres some really good sites .no fuk i forgot the website but ill let you know when i remember. you can spend hours there. good luck bro and tell me what kinda axe your thinking of! i love this shit.ill remember the name in a bit

I didnt do any museums but i did a lot of temples / castles. Also did the deer island near hiroshima. Its covered in these tiny knee high deer that will walk right up to you

If you have time lots of places including korea are just a short flight. We did a side trip to the philippines so my son could get a few lessons from a legit Arnis master. Fucking gorgeous beaches too if you get a resort on Mactan

thats awesome bro. i know a bit but ive been looking for a legit Kali escrima master. good luck if your in the states.thats the real deal but be warned. using sticks and blades like that is a quick way to get into serious trouble. but if your trying to live and fight another day they are great for taking people out.gotta know when to kill people.me personally i carry a tazer,pepperspray, a 3 inch razor sharp stilleto and a Umarex .50 cal modded pepperball gun if i wanna go all out. thats for like camping though. i cant carry a gun. {legally} wink wink

Yeah in the US its like taking a dance class.

The eskrimador in cebu had my son legit taking swings at him full force. Thats just how they train over there. Its easy to set up if you're interested and they all speak english

i cant say im a "master" but ive been practicing and spliting wigs for 20 years. but if i ever get the chance,you bet im gonna try to learn. i know a bit of Silat but i only bring that to the table when shit really hits the fan. that reminds me. i should make my own karambit

I'd almost prefer they just put the fucker out of its misery already and delete it outright. Like I've said, I'm not gonna be one of those clowns who says I won't return to the misc at all if it comes back up. We all know the deal here. But I'm also not caring much atm about it coming back, either. The mods could have been way better on the misc, the soffware is ancient Egyptian status, they haven't tended to the forum properly in over a decade, and these outages keep getting worse and worse. All I know is if it does come back, the first thing I'm gonna do when my ban is lifted is to neg Pissy Slippers and bask in the glory of knowing those red squares absolutely wreck his day.
