Why do some people keep saying the misc was shut down without any sort of warning? If you'd been paying attention, you'd have realized that the writing was on the wall for this very clearly for like 2 years now. Anyone who thought it was coming back after the 3 week shut down was simply delusional.
Now some miscers are holding out hope that they miraculously change course and reverse an official forum shutdown that the company has wanted for like 6+ years now? Just move on already. If anything, the official misc shutdown goes to show you how stupid it is to put any sort of stock into retarded "communities" like the misc. One day you can be posting on a formum you've frequented for 10 - 20+ years, the next it can easily have the rug yanked and vanish like a fart in the wind. Easy come, easy go. I really don't get why some are pissing and moaning like there was no way they could have ever seen it coming when it was clearly in the works for a long time.

When was the last time you purchased supplements from the bb.com online shop? How much money would you say you'd spent on bb.com over the course of the last 10 years? The forums weren't driving a profit and hadn't since like 2009. Once you accept that fact and understand that that made the forums an annoying distraction at best to the site owners, you'll understand why the forums weren't able to weather the 4th change in ownership or so that had happened in like 7 years by 2022.
Would YOU want your bodybuilding supplement products store associated with the misc as it was when it went down? With all the endless threads about Jews, nazis, porn, the peedos like MinisterOfChildLust and monsterpeed0 stalking the forums while talking about their sick ways? Come on man, it's no wonder the forums finally went down.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm kind of relieved that they finally deleted the misc. Mainly because the way things were around there made it such an incredible time suck. Indeed, any forum can easily be a big waste of time for a person, but it's not nearly as bad here as it was there. The misc was a different kind of animal with how easy it was to get sucked into wasting shit tons of time there. Then just like that, 10 - 20 years of posting for countless vanishes like a fart in the wind... just lmao

Yeah, it's legitimately depressing to think how many countless hours (over MANY years) that I wasted on that place. The reality of it really settled in this weekend, I had way more free time and didn't feel a compulsion to constantly see what Bull Shit is happening on the Misc (and the majority of it, in recent years, was usually arguing with unhinged idiots who had no interest in an honest discussion).

How did they lie a few days before pulling the plug? Did anything official come out with them saying they were going to fix the forum? Because if so, I missed it. What I do recall is the forum being broken down for 3 weeks (a ridiculous amount of time for a site function that was going to be anything other than scrapped), and the tabs to the forums from the site's main pages were removed a few days before the official plug pulling. If them removing that forums tab didn't tip you off as to what was happening after the second major weeks-long shut down in less than half a year, then I'm not sure what would have aside from an official announcement.
Besides, we all knew that was as much warning as we were ever going to get. Even back before Ryan DeLuca stepped down, people openly joked on the misc about how misc would just be deleted without any warning one day as the way it all ended. What we ended up with was close to a month of very obvious signs that they were scrapping it and no official warning, so that was still a lot more than many of us ever thought they'd give us before yanking it.

That hit me about a week into this last shut down. I was scrolling through some week old threads trying to be entertained by what was already very old news by then. And then it dawned on me, "wtf am I even doing with my life right now?" I've always known miscing was a huge waste of time, but those frozen pages stuck for weekz really put things into focus on that. And like you said, over the last few years, it's been especially bad with the lack of people interested in honest discussion. Felt like 90% of what went on there was people finding excuses to e-fight each other about the dumbest shit imaginable.

I was getting paid most of the time I spent on it, so I never considered it too much of a waste
Edit: you know the advantage of the mega thread - you can read one thread and be caught up and not worry about missing anything anywhere else. That said - the movie/tv section seems solid
