So my 2008 Surly Cross Check got jacked last week. Feels bad man.

Thing that sucks is that it took me months researching before I finally settled on that bike. Not sure that I can just go out and buy a new one real quick. Also with the season ramping up, I feel like if I dont buy now and get in on some sweet deals then I'll have to potentially wait until winter.

I live in Vegas where it is pretty much flat so I think I want to start looking at single speed cyclocross bikes with disc brakes. Anyone have any ideas or leads? I know disc brakes are slowly creeping out of the Mtn biking crowd but aren't quite as widespread.

Thanks bros. I don't post much but love seeing the sweet swag you all post.
Cross checks should be getting cheaper, as the Straggler was introduced (which is the cross check but a LITTLE longer/wider to fit fatter tires). The frame geometry for the Cross Check hasn't changed really, so if you liked it, get it. Surly (and only surly, not all QBP brands) is offering a $150 coupon on any stock bike from an LBS (Surly USA Superfan Coupon | Blog | Surly Bikes). I had a buddy get a 2013 Cross Check for like $700 (old-model year discount, plus the SuperFan coupon), but I haven't been able to score the same deal (I want a single speed god damn it).

Screw the surly, get a Traitor Crusade, they went disc recently and are sexy as hell.

I do love my Surly LHT. I've used it for commuting and touring primarily. I love that bike and its my go to for most things.

Because it was asked earlier, this is the bike I bought for competition/exercise. Keep in mind I am a hobbyist mostly. As I realized frames are stupidly overpriced. I grabbed this and I am putting on some different higher quality components I've hoarded over the past year through sales/promotions.

$1000 for mostly 105 components and a carbon fork? Score dude, that's pretty damn sweet.

Flight booked. Cycling throughout Florence -> Tuscany -> Rome in June. Hella excited and nervous for all the hills, haha. I gotta get back in shape.

Was great to actually go out and hit the road today after all this fucking winter. Temps in the 50's in the mid-atlantic. Lots of wet spots from snow melt but I'll take it.

Worked 7-5 and still had time for 16 mile mtb ride in the hills. Welcome back daylight savings! I love you!

Hell yes. 40+ up here in NE all week too. The roads are too shitty for my actual road bike, but I'm going be grinding out some local hill repeats on my 29'er this week. Really wishing I had a CX bike right now.
