So my friend who had quit due to tons of disconnect on PS4 is back, fixed his problem.
Basically, router was set to DNS "auto", he changed it to use Google DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and no more disconnect at all on Sunday. 6 hours or so straight without being disconnected, before he would disconnect multiple times just trying to log on, almost after every mission, and almost after all conversation ended.
We're back to being able to play together again.

Is it so incomprehensible that someone would rather fly around and shoot shit than run around on streets shooting shit? Division 2 looks incredibly boring. It's kinda crazy how people like different things.

I played D2 for about an hour last night, and I'm lukewarm on it for largely the reason you just said.
I was thinking to myself:
"I should get some time in the beta so I know if I want to spend money when it releases".
Then:
"They're both kinda boring. I'd rather be bored in the one that lets me fly around and do superhero landings"

We're enjoying Anthem despite its flaws.
I’ll most likely get a Division 2 at some point, I don’t think my friend will thought. We’re not shooter fans, we enjoyed Destiny and now Anthem because of the sci-fi aspect, not really into modern semi-realistic settings.

I'm still playing and having fun, but my playtime has fallen off considerably. When I do play it's usually a Freeplay session while listening to a podcast or YouTube video.

The amount of loading the game does, I still say the game is overheating systems, don't understand why the game has too load so much and even then 50% of the time the game just pukes itself from all the loading.

i wish i could get to the actual end game but the flow of the game is sooooo bad. Is it really, really, really annoying to anyone else that for every fucking stupid ass mission you get to a point, you click on something or stand somewhere, and there is a 10-20 second delay where a dude talks about your next checkpoint BUT YOU DON'T ACTUALLY GET IT until he stops talking? So I'm just rotating around like a retard on a spinning wheel looking for where to go next, and it won't pop up until I am ready to just quit out. And it keeps happening over, and over, and over every mission.
Like jesus christ watch some marie kondo and shit Bioware designers, I should be flowing smoothly from point to point and super hyped about shit to do but instead every mission is a total snooze fest punctuated by lame ass fetch quests, idiotic loading screens, and waiting around for my Nintendo 64 GPS to fucking update so I can go to the next shitty checkpoint. That doesn't even go into how fucking stupid Fort Tarsis is, for a "quest hub city" it feels like it was stolen from a walking sim game. Why is it FPS and not TPS, that makes no sense.
One good thing about Anthem, I'm going back and finishing up older games I just sorta lost interest in because as shitty as they might have been, they are actually MORE FUN than Anthem. I'm having a blast in Far Cry 5, near the end of the game, because Anthem is so goddamn boring.

I find the whole loading thing strange. Of all the shit I hated about Anthem while I had it, I don't think "too many loading screens" would have even made the top 20. I think it's retarded as hell that you need a loading screen to access the forge, but other than that it didn't bother me much at all. Load times weren't exceptionally long on a Pro w/ SSHD either. Despite what I think of the BioWare of today, I really did want to like the game since this is the only one of the big-3 looter shooter games that didn't waste any dev time at all on PVP that not only could I not give a single fuck about, but also actively makes my PVE experience worse.
As for the possibility of overheating, there's a specific error code for when the console shuts down due to that and people having the problem insist they aren't seeing it.

Its frostbite, it loads the whole fucking zone youre zoning into. This is why zoning into the launch bay is the quickest, least amount of assets to load. Its not like other games where it loads shit on the fly.
They should talk to brad Mcquaid about the chunking, maybe that will turn it around for anthem.
Seriously though the loading does get on your nerves when you try a stronghold for instance... It loads you into broken instance, doors locked, no way to advance, so you hit map screen hit F, then it loads you into rewards screen, then you have to wait through that bullshit, even if you skip it, then load back into hangar, or whatever, then load another stronghold and hope its not broken like your last one.
You go through that shit a couple of times and you lose the will to go through all the waiting so you can hopefully play again. Its like the game is doing everything in its power to stop you from playing.
Why not bypass all that bullshit? Do we really need a reward screen showing our EXP which is meaningless in end game? Why cant we just load into the launch screen, where you have options then to go to forge, or if you want to listen to NPC talk in the shitty town.
Why do we have to run around town to collect the contracts? Why isnt this jsut available from the launch menu?
There is so much they could do to streamline this shit to 1 or 2 loads max. Insted we go though 3-4 for next mission or whatever.

LOL so getting the daily contracts from the loading bay, one click. Launcher is bugged and I have to go to Ft Tarsis to launch.
Finally managed to get my 25 quick plays done, and am down to 25 world events left for challenge of Valor. Other than the launch bay bug, I actually had a reasonably solid session tonight.
Gonna check out Season of the Drifter tomorrow, should tide me over for a little while till the 3/12 patch. Not really a fan of Gambit though.

Im gonna skip this expansion in Destiny. I guess im all destinied out for the time being. Gonna try my hands on Div2, played beta and suprisingly had a ton of fun. I played the first on in beta and it sucked.
Div2 with all of its problems is like AAAAAAAA compared to this mess.
