Is that the Vicar boss or whatever its' name is? I've probably died 20 times to that one before I had to give up and go to bed. Shit is unforgiving.
Ah no. I consider Vicar #3. 5 is outside of Yharnam.

its the witch. I killed her and i guess she has a twin sister because another one appeared at half health and killed me

ahhh i was unaware it was saving as we went, assumed it saved at lanters/dream world. So i thought if i quit and came back, i'd still have all my blood but it would put me back at the lantern thus having to fight my way back to where i am now.
since i was unsure, i just left it on, good to know quitting and starting puts you right where you were.
Pretty sure it puts you exactly where you selected "exit game". Same enemies dead etc..At least it appeared that way the one time I tried it.

I missed her, and I think that means I can't finish her quest now. Maybe she's still up there and I just have to kill her now.

Are the hostile hunters one-time kills, ds "invasion" style?

Killing Father G was a fucking moment of triumph I swear. I didn't have as much trouble with any boss in DS2. My asshole learned to pucker when he would switch to two handed. Past that bit he's actually easier as long as your camera doesn't wig the fuck out on you when he leaps around. (speaking of, was Cleric the "Camera Boss" for everyone else? One shot it but holy annoying)

So I reached the guy manning the gatling gun and thought oh good, this will make this place easier. Hah hah, NOPE. I think they are still finding pieces of my body. Well, I know what to expect now so maybe it isn't so bad but HOLY SPEED.

I may take the other path instead though because I hear that's where a weapon I want is. Plus the old Yrwhatever area is a one way trip and I keep leaving levels worth of souls down there. Fairly easy area otherwise though.

I'm still inconsistent at best with the parry. Half the time I'm rolling away because I expect it to fail, and then I miss out on the visceral. Like those brick guys - I swear I shoot them on the exact same frame of the exact same attack and parry them 100% of the time... until it just decided to never work again. The fuck? I could even stun them in mid air but now I can't?

Hrm, lightbulb. I switched back to pistol to use the range to pull certain mobs to avoid Gatling rape. Maybe the blunderbuss was more forgiving. Besides, that's what rocks are for.

The only thing hurting my enjoyment of the game is the load times. In the current area I'm clocking it at 70 seconds. Jesus fuckballs. The only game worse is fucking COD: AW on PC, and that's because it plays a goddamn unskippable movie over top of every level load. I feel like I've gone back in time to my C64 with its cassette tapes. This is a real problem with this 'gen. When SSD tech advances further and the price war bottoms out these consoles are going to be fucking dinosaurs.

What was that game that gave us pong during level loads?

From what I've gathered they are either one, hostile or friendly depending on how you interact with them. Like you I got Eileen pissed off at me at the start, because notes on the ground before hand were all telling me to fear her and etc... Supposedly this changes future encounters (like in Cathedral) where she would be fighting the Hunter there and you have the option to save either one.

They seem to give you Emotes and an item or two depending on which part of the plot you are encountering them. I befriended the 2nd Hunter (which for me was the one in Cathedral) and he gave me the Pray emote and something else, can't remember. Killing Eileen I think gets you her Emote but nothing else from keeping her alive throughout the story.

That's all 50% speculation / 50% what I've come across in game. Almost had Eileen killed by kiting her around the City, she didn't seem to have a leash. Then the camera bugged out and got trapped in a corner so she one combo'd me.

Other hunters are one time kills yes. Also tip for the gattling gun hunter: fight near the edge and knock him off.
First time I managed to get all the way to him and up the tower, I dodged his very first attack and rolled off the god damn tower

I'll be honest, either I didn't know you could get to the gatling dude or I'm not to him. My path down to BSB took my through all that but it was a bee-line to right there, then after that did more exploring in Cathedral behind the 10k door and some other spots.

Of which, how many total people can you send back to Iosefka's Clinic? So far the only one that would go is the lady behind the door in the Hound area. Everyone else still tells me to piss off.

Damn work today, no time this evening either QQ

I sent that hound lady to the Cathedral and now she is just crying....lol.

If you unlocked the shortcut to the BSB (the ladder going down) there is a ladder right past that going up (to the left if you are facing the ladder going down) where you fight the gatling dude

Oh gotcha, yeah the shortcut down is what I always took, will go back and check the other one. Thanks.

LOL that didn't take too long. Knocked him off but he didn't drop anything...

Yep was for me too. I beat him last night after the 2nd attempt due to Camera problems. I ended up not locking on to him, and started the fight by throwing some oil and a Molotov at the thing

After that I would just sit under his butt and start sawing away. If I took too much damage I was able to run fast across the bridge and heal up / rinse and repeat.

Now I just need to find boss number 2!

Intrinsic, are we friends on PS4?

Don't know man, I think so? XxDaCatxX is PSN name.

I can see the guys soul where he fell to his death but it is on a railing of the wood bridge leading down to the shortcut/upper ladder. FFS.

If you beat the guy using gravity, quit to the title screen and load your game. His soul will be at his spawn point

Just go into Hunter's Dream and then back out, kill your way back to his tower, climb up, the item will be there.

Just don't fuck up and die on the way. It will be back there, I just did that too.
