I will admit that I was looking at the "check your privilege" phenomenon somewhat naively as simply a way of acknowledging certain advantages and perhaps allowing for a better understanding of people who come from different backgrounds. This doesn't mean that "white privilege" doesn't exist, but that there are situations where telling people to "check it" is counterproductive.

As part Greek I'd like everyone here to stop appropriating our scientific Method and pretty much all of of the bases of western civilization that we pioneered.
As part Italian I'd like everyone to stop appropriating are delcious Italian and Italian American food, anything of Roman origin, the Italian Renaissance, Lamborghini's, Ferrari's...etc.
As part Swedish I'd like everyone to stop appropriating...I dunno, Swedish fish? Blonde hair?...I don't even have blonde hair anymore.
As Part English I'd like everyone to appropriate Eel Pie because it's gross and was probably a terrible mistake so you can have it(even though I've never tried it).
