i am late to the party, but i just want to say that white privilege or whatever privilege is a double edged sword. as a white guy its assumed that i am competent and hard working and i have to work my ass off to live up to those expectations. on the other hand if you are a minority and people have low expectations of you then any effort you put in will surprise others.

Just judge me by my work and for the man I am. Leave race out of it. Is it really so difficult a concept for people to grasp? I feel like modern day pop culture/psychology is making people into giant pussies.
Some shit is blatantly racist. Call it out and move on. Shame it wherever you find it. The problem is the media has bought this modern notion true racism can only occur when you have power too and thus minorities are incapable of actually being racist. That is horse shit and the furthest thing from the truth.
The truth is people are just assholes and they hate other people different from them. It takes effort to recognize this and open up and just judge people by their own worth and merits individually and not label an entire race.
Some of my black uncles are the most racist people I know. They endured a lot of discrimination, back alley beatings and false imprisonment. Do they have a right to be mad? Yes they do. Do they have a right to hate EVERY white person on the planet? No they don't.
Everyone here that said modern "black culture" is toxic is pretty much spot on. The thug mentality isn't compatible with civilized society, plain and simple. But the underlying assumption by people that all black people are thugs isn't right either. This attitude is what makes the blacks who try to integrate into society mad. Cops always look at you suspiciously, even if you follow the rules and obey the law. You always fit the "description". You try to be nice and help an old lady across the street, they will scream for help or yell at you to get away. The very color of black skin makes them fearful. People that cross the street when they see black people coming. Shit like that. I'm not talking about gang bangers. I'm talking about normally dressed blacks that act non threatening. Teachers shaming black students for wearing their hair in ways non whites don't (braids, cornrows).
The flip side of that coin is black people treating other blacks like shit by doing stuff they perceive as "white". Speaking properly without slang, going to school or dating a non black girl. Shit is taboo and gets you no end of grief and ridicule in the black community.
And that's is black peoples number one issue. Other black people. The values of your typical black family are in disarray. We are the only race in the US that will not assimilate into American culture. We are very standoffish. Cocky. Outspoken. Loud. Proud of our ignorance. It's a sad state of affairs but until we fix those problems within our own communities, no amount of guilting white people privilege or affirmative action will change that.

Oh, and the follow up is yes I'm aware that causes issues when you have a mixed-race society, and the answer is to STOP FUCKING DOING THAT. Seriously, this ridiculous notion that mixing races within homelands/societies is a good idea is fucking absurd. It (race) is literally the uppermost tier of group definition when dealing with humans. We as a species identify with and base our entire lives around groups, big and small.
