Legalize prostitution.

It would reduce the taboo associated with promiscuity.

It would allow prostitutes to operate above board, which would allow organizations to form, with an inherent interest in protecting their employees and their clientele.

There is potential it could eradicate or seriously diminish the sex slave trade, and STIs.

It would create job opportunities--that substantially favored women--and would legitimize what is considered to be the world's oldest profession already.

I'm definitely 100% in favor of legalized prostitution, so long as it's safe and at least marginally regulated.

That said, in the reality of shitty.cops.US, the protection racket for prostitutes would just move from pimps to cops.

There is as far as I am aware* no such thing a system without corruption, but having said that there's absolutely no more legitimacy to cops getting kickbacks for Legal prostitution then there is for cops getting a kickback from an Apple store or a Best Buy. Once a business becomes legitimate, lawyers can litigate, and corruption, as is the case with corruption, can not be ubiquitous or it stops being corruption. As it stands a dirty cop has far better opportunity to gain off a black market economy, than a judicially protected service. It is massively more logical to promote legalization of prostitution, then to convince this board the benefits of altering the Judicial system entirely toward one type of crime.
