Why do you keep quoting the same statistics from the same flawed methodology?

Government statistics are a fucking joke.

They count unemployment wrong.
They count inflation wrong.
They project healthcare costs wrong.
They project budgets wrong.
They still can't count how people are murdered by cops every year.

But because this one fucking bullshit study with bad methodology agrees with you, it's THE ABSOLUTE TRUTH.

I don't think there's a rape epidemic, but if more stats with good methodology come out pointing in that direction, I could definitely be convinced of it.

I think the number of rapists aregenerally trending downon a national level due to better education about consent, but I think reporting rates are extremely low, way lower than these absurd NCVS numbers say, and I think this throws off the numbers a lot and could allow a smaller number of serial rapists to be getting away with rapes on a consistent basis.

The only survey that I have disagreed with is the bullshit one you previously brought up, from exactly one college where they won't even release the name, with numbers wildly outside of anything else. Which btw, even you said the numbers were insane and probably couldn't be extrapolated to anything else.

So basically, calm down and try for once to be rational on this subject.

All that study 'proves' to me is that people are less likely to trust the government with information about their sex lives. Remember that these self-report survey interviews are conducted by people on the same rung of the evolutionary ladder as the TSA and all of a sudden this will become a lot more clear to you.

I am being rational.

That study, other than being from a single unnamed college, came from a world premier behavioral sciences department, and had a MUCH better survey methodology than other similar studies.

You're not being rational if you think the government has ever been good at collecting statistics.

Someone should post two graphs sides by side, the first, the declining rape statistics graph. Next, the growth in income inequality over the past two decades.

Not that these two things have anything to do with one another, but it would still be funny to pretend they do. The less rapes, the more income inequality! Fix the economy, rape someone!

Not true; claiming the UN was reliable at collecting any sort of useful data from its member states would've been more embarrassing.

But their numbers are pretty muchidentical with the NCVSand on-track with Interpol or the OECD's or just about anyone else, anyway. Under this administration the NSCV has been conducted with oversight from community groups like RAINN to the degree that it's raised GAO concerns.

Rape? Whats rape? Being intoxicated while having sex? Being pressured into having sex? Having sex then regretting or thinking you were coerced? Tricking someone into having sex? Physically forcing someone to have sex? What about rough sex?
