Just admit to yourself that you are in no way at all rational about this subject. You use all the excuses you can that allows you to believe in the 'rape epidemic' and then spend days and days crying about how much it sucks having a vagina and men are bad.

This must be what it's like arguing with a climate denier.

We have the opposite of a hockey stick here:

US_RAPE0315_SC.jpg

And we have the rape equivalent of the IPCC admitting that rapes have declined by two-thirds even as rape reporting has improved by 35% and yet we have these hardcore bluehair RAPE-CRISIS peddlers opportunistically screeching "RAPE EPIDEMIC".

Well, I still think it is perfectly rational to argue that this number is still too high.

However, arguing that rapes aren't going down is just batshit.

What's batshit is declaring a "Campus Rape Epidemic" when not only are rapes against college-aged women declining rapidly over the last three decades,

Why do you keep quoting the same statistics from the same flawed methodology?

You have a fucking shrine to Ronald Reagan in your bedroom and yet somehow you think the "I'm from the government and I'm here to help" door to door rape self-report survey is accurate despite saying that self-report surveys are feels-data.

Government statistics are a fucking joke.

They count unemployment wrong.
They count inflation wrong.
They project healthcare costs wrong.
They project budgets wrong.
They still can't count how people are murdered by cops every year.

But because this one fucking bullshit study with bad methodology agrees with you, it's THE ABSOLUTE TRUTH.

You have no logical or ideological consistency in your arguments. I honestly thought better of you, but obviously I was wrong.

Just admit to yourself that you are in no way at all rational about this subject. You use all the excuses you can that allows you to believe in the 'rape epidemic' and then spend days and days crying about how much it sucks having a vagina and men are bad.
I don't think there's a rape epidemic, but if more stats with good methodology come out pointing in that direction, I could definitely be convinced of it.

I think the number of rapists aregenerally trending downon a national level due to better education about consent, but I think reporting rates are extremely low, way lower than these absurd NCVS numbers say, and I think this throws off the numbers a lot and could allow a smaller number of serial rapists to be getting away with rapes on a consistent basis.

Whatproofdo we have that they're going down? The self-report surveys that agree with you or the self-report surveys that don't?

The only survey that I have disagreed with is the bullshit one you previously brought up, from exactly one college where they won't even release the name, with numbers wildly outside of anything else. Which btw, even you said the numbers were insane and probably couldn't be extrapolated to anything else.

So basically, calm down and try for once to be rational on this subject.

See? That wasn't so hard, was it? I'm glad I was able to clear that up for you.

Now that you know you're
rrr_img_98291.gif
and belong to the statistically-least-likely-to-be-raped generation of women in human history, maybe you can find a frat party to chill out at.

You keep quoting data from the same 1 bullshit government study with terrible methodology.

All that study 'proves' to me is that people are less likely to trust the government with information about their sex lives. Remember that these self-report survey interviews are conducted by people on the same rung of the evolutionary ladder as the TSA and all of a sudden this will become a lot more clear to you.

I am being rational.

That study, other than being from a single unnamed college, came from a world premier behavioral sciences department, and had a MUCH better survey methodology than other similar studies.

You're not being rational if you think the government has ever been good at collecting statistics.

Someone should post two graphs sides by side, the first, the declining rape statistics graph. Next, the growth in income inequality over the past two decades.

Not that these two things have anything to do with one another, but it would still be funny to pretend they do. The less rapes, the more income inequality! Fix the economy, rape someone!

But after all the effort Mist has put into burying those embarassing stats back a couple pages, bringing them up again is literally forum-rape.

Each instance of forum rape is worth at least a .0003% increase in overall national GDP and a reduction by the same amount in the national income inequality gap!

Dude, nothing is more embarrassing than you claiming the government is good at collecting data, from self-report survey interviews conducted by people in the same intellectual range of TSA/census/ACORN workers.

Not true; claiming the UN was reliable at collecting any sort of useful data from its member states would've been more embarrassing.

But their numbers are pretty muchidentical with the NCVSand on-track with Interpol or the OECD's or just about anyone else, anyway. Under this administration the NSCV has been conducted with oversight from community groups like RAINN to the degree that it's raised GAO concerns.

But hey, watching you shit on the results to support your "RAPE EPIDEMIC" denialism is almost as gratifying as meditating in my Gipper cave.

Income inequality influences internet porn access tho:

UN_sl said:
the adjusted per-capita victimization rate of rape has declined from about 2.4 per 1000 people (age 12 and above) in 1980 (that is, 2.4 persons from each 1000 people 12 and older were raped during that year) to about 0.4 per 1000 people,a decline of about 85%.There are several possible explanations for this, including stricter laws, education on security for women, and a correlation with the rise in Internet pornography.

All of these are self-report survey data, which is 'feels-data' according to this forum.

Whatreliabledata, according to this forum, do you have to confirm your belief that rapes are going down?

You realize thats kind of the problem with "rape", right? Some crimes are extremely evident and require no analysis, like finding a body in the street riddled with bullet holes, that would obviously be a murder.

Rape? Whats rape? Being intoxicated while having sex? Being pressured into having sex? Having sex then regretting or thinking you were coerced? Tricking someone into having sex? Physically forcing someone to have sex? What about rough sex?

Okay, so you admit you have no idea of knowing whether there's a rape epidemic or not, and any statement to the contrary is 100% founded on "feels."
