Dr Strange is a popular character and no expected it to really suck (marvel fan boys that is). Once everyone found out it sucked the box office dropped.

Hey Steven, we know you were basically the whole reason the universe was saved from Thanos, and were dead for five years to do it, but:
Fuck you, you don't keep your girl (Rachel McAdams).
Fuck you, you don't keep your title (Sorcerer Supreme).
Fuck you, you don't even get to keep your job (saving the universe at no personal gain), because there's a multiple-minority that wants your job (the gay hispanic female America Ferrera).
Wow, that was harsh even for us. Alright, when we set up a sequel, we'll throw you a bone with a potential future love interest In Clea, but only in a post-credit sequence, and only after you clean up your mess you made saving the world again.

It's not entirely valueless (I rather like the music fight), but its definitely of the 'Replace The White Men' era of Marvel.
