If you aren't disgusted with a lot of the Cyberpunk world, you aren't even human to me.

Feels like 50% of this game is about making degenerate brain dances. Everytime this game reminds me of how disgusting it is I can only think about this scene and how every NCPD crime in progress mission is me taking a pair of pliers and a blowtorch to this city.

Half my time is just spend running around blasting motherfuckers for no reason. Not as fun to drive around and rampage as GTA though

Do you have double jump and dash yet?

Basically means you can triple jump almost as fast as a car and go crazy in combat with slow motion once you get a Sandevestan implant.

I agree the actual driving isn't as fun as GTA for some reason.

I'd much rather fuck around in CP2077 than GTA. GTA is so fucking boring now.

It is after a few mods. Had one that fixed the boxy driving and another that let you bring in new cars. I actually liked it enough I drove to jobs and sometimes just drove around for the fun of it.

One of the things I really liked about this game was that there are parts of it you can completely nerd out with and go super deep (vehicles and driving), or just pretty much ignore it altogether and stick to just one motorcycle as the means to get from one place to another. I was afraid the FPS shooter part of it would suffer because it was trying to do so many mechanics, but the gun play is still pretty smooth and rewarding

I started Cyberpunk with a pretty vanilla reflex build. Hop around, bullet time, unload SMG / assault rifle, hop out, rinse and repeat. Yesterday I switched to a throwing knife build and am still refining.

The balance they had to do to make a throwing knife build not only viable, but competitive with assault rifles cracks me up. I think one knife throw to the head of someone has equivalent damage to 20 rounds of my rifle.

never liked assault rifles in this, felt like if i was far away just 1 shot mother fuckers with O'Five and if i could close the gap just rip with a sword, smg, shotgun, or arm cyberware.

I was always attracted to more of the stealth pistols/snipes type game play. Stealth snipe all those you see, then run in and stealth kill the rest with pistol. Then when revealed I just go ham with the pistols. I did try the SMG/AR stuff at release but you had those one shot revolvers that you could stick cans on. Those have been nerfed since, lol. Then you had the Burya tech pistols that would shoot 3 rounds at once and that would one shot through walls and shit. Those were always fun too.

I just sniped people through walls. That gun was so broke. Sniper was the easy mode once you got the skill and weapon. I would switch to pistol if combat got to close.

Oh and the time slow mod that allowed me to take down 4 people before they hit the ground....

Yup, generic burya, best rarity I could get my hands on, to 1-2 shot everything. And then later switched to Laika and Comrade's Hammer (lego versions of burya). Never felt the need to use anything else for closer range. I was looking forward to Doom Doom since it was pretty good when the game launched, but being available rather late and somewhat nerfed, I just kept using the other two.

So I've been doing a new playthrough because I had picked up phantom Liberty. I know I had posted in the computer issue problems where suddenly my games were getting lagged out, or before things like cyberpunk and starfield had no issues running on what I at least deemed to be acceptable settings.

I did a rolling back the drivers and doing the clean install with somebody's advice which was extremely helpful, but it just seems that the expansion is still making it difficult to get it tuned in. When I played it through the first time when it had released I may be played on medium with a few things at the High, running an RTX 2080, and it was a great experience.

Did the game suddenly become very CPU heavy? I've been watching a bunch of videos and trying to read a bunch of stuff to get it optimized, but still having issues with frame drop, especially if I'm traveling around the city, and even just in a building on a mission.

Only thing hardware wise I changed was upgrading to a newer Dell 32 inch widescreen. Maybe it's the graphics card not being able to push it? I really don't know.

I don't have things like Ray tracing turned on, but I guess I've turned on dlss, and running in ultra performance. Only thing that seems to make a difference is if I shift or downgrade the resolution to 1080, but it looks wonky.

Are there any mods or tweaks you can make to get the game to run smooth, because it wasn't a problem the first time I played through it.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I had to get a better CPU cooler after Phantom Liberty. CP is super CPU heavy it was cranking my CPU into the 90+ degree territory.

Well I have a Alienware area 51 laptop. I bought it because my other one crapped out on me and with traveling for work and stuff I'm being away from home I wanted a decent gaming computer that I could at least bring with me. Had an Acer Predator that crapped out but this one's been trucking along and I've been able to pretty much throw everything at it possible, and it's never batted an eye.

Upgrading the CPU isn't necessarily going to be an option, or at least I don't believe it to be the case. Anytime I'm playing a game though I turn up my fan speeds and I've got one of those laptop pads with a whole bunch of fans and try to make certain I've got proper air flow. I know a laptop isn't necessarily going to be as good as a desktop, but again it was working perfectly fine. My eyesight's not wonderful and I'm not necessarily going to detect the major differences between ultra settings and running stuff on high. I just want my FPS to be stable again, specifically with this game.

All I know is it seems that the game doesn't run near as smooth as it did when it originally had come out, I just wondered if they had added all kinds of different graphics effects and bs that is now making it way more CPU intensive.

I mean everything's on a decent SSD, I think I've got 48 or 64 gigs of RAM, I forget which generation of I-9 processor is in there, but the damn thing wasn't cheap, but wrote it off as a business expense because I do all my damn work on it.

I wonder if there's a setting in there that's bottlenecking the CPU or maybe it's not pulling from all four cores maybe? Not really sure where to check that, if that's even a potential problem.

Still running an updated version of Windows 10 and not 11. Would that maybe be something I had to look at doing? I just don't know if 11 is giving people a lot of heartburn or anything.

I am not a Windows power user, but I have been on 11 on my laptop and PC since launch and I can't remember the last time I blue screened or anything.

Neither am I.

That's why I was kind of hesitant to go ahead and upgrade and not necessarily know what the benefits are to doing so. 10 is actually been really wonderful. I just don't know necessarily what benefit you get from upping to 11 or if it's just security fixes and Data tracking for Bill Gates.
