But that's not the Sabretooth that Reynolds was in a movie with?!?

Now, if this is some running injoke where they only cast different actors than the ones Reynolds was previously in movies with (like the nonsense above about Blade), that's a pretty meta joke, but if he's trying to say X-Men Origins was really from a divergent timeline, then I'm really onboard.
Well. Tyler Mane is probably heaps cheaper than getting Liev Schreiber. Considering it's more of a Wolverine villain, it's fine.

There is always a chance both are in it. It might have been scheduling issues too, since Schreiber has a TV show, set in Nantucket, in post production atm.

what does this even mean? That the Tyler Mane version was more of a "wolverine" villain than the version in the LITERAL ACTUAL WOLVERINE SPIN OFF MOVIE?

Tyler Mane's Sabertooth wasn't all that great, he was basically just a dumb big grunt with maybe one line in the entire film and Liev Shrieber's was probably a highlight of that terrible terrible X-Men Origins movie, but if you're going to play on nostalgia feels, bringing back Tyler Mane is the better (and cheaper, as was said) choice. X-Men is still quite appreciated by the fanbase, while Wolverine Origins is laughing stock.

Plus Tyler Mane's version actually looks a bit like the X-Men comics/animated series character somewhat, Liev Shrieber's Sabertooth is just Liev Shrieber with dirty long nails (and runs like a goof on all four).
