Not sure I'm a day 1 guy if it is in the $40 range (as would be expected). But I will probably pick it up and play it at some point. I actually like what the game became after numerous patches, though there is still plenty of room for improvement. A free expansion would go a loooooong way toward healing reputation wounds (just in case Blizz is reading and gives a crap), but I'm not depending on it.

It was satisfying to finally see Jay Wilson get dealt with the way he deserved for fucking up one of my favorite franchises then acting like a pompous asshole afterwards.

The cinematic definitely wasn't 'arthas returning to Lordaeron in wc3' or 'Baal walking away with the soulstone at the end of D2', but it was more engaging than any of the D3 cinematics, which I skip through every time and honestly don't remember a single thing about, other than the black soulstone falling to the ground at the end.

Well, contextually, I think they nailed it. Yes Baal was a bad motherfucker and that ending was awesome. Here we are dealing with death. Cold, unfeeling, unyielding death. The whole thing is blue. Even the gameplay footage. And how much humanity do you want from an Angel that has become human? The dude isn't going to be too shaken after what he's seen. And he even knows this guy.

Metzen needs to learn that his villains should for the most part just shut up. The cinematic would be vastly improved if Malthael never said anything.

The thing is... In the Diablo lore. Malthael was the former Archangel of Wisdom before Tyrael took that place as Nephalem of Wisdom. Now all of a sudden he is the aspect of Death, how did that come about?

Two teenage punks killed his wife, so he got all emo and rounded a bunch of other angels to assault the realm of Death. But just before they won, he was all like 'syke!', and sat on the throne instead.

Found the secret cut scene explaining Malthael lore.

Durr, there must always be death of course.

Thats in the diablo lore right? LAwl, who knows with blizzard throwing darts on the same story board for all their games.

Didn't someone make a comment earlier that they should just say "baddies over there, go kill them."? I agree with that. This high school level of a plot is just so bad. Or just completely rip off a better piece of literature. I would actually like to see if a video game could pull of a Malazan-style plot.

Well that's essentially what this expansion is, baddie comes out of nowhere and steals the black soulstone, so go kill him. I searched for more info on Maltheal, but there really isn't much other than he doesn't talk much and he mysteriously left the council. I'm hoping that they learned from Act IV and just keep him creepy and silent.

Also, why did they make the female crusader white/white haired? We already have the female monk. Just seems kinda weird that they didn't make her black too.
