So I'm at a bit of a stand still on progression because I prioritized a speed WW barb setup first to be able to farm faster. I'm trying to decide if an Ancient Spear/Pull WW Barb build or a HOTA build would be better for progression. I have meh gear for both specs but trying to decide which one to focus on with cube mats and blood shards.

I actually like what White Knight Chronicles 2 did, though it was much more pay to win style, but you could "buy" buffs. You could buy higher drop rates, buy +exp, buy +gold, etc.

I'd certainly pay for shit like higher drop rates.

from wkc2:
Dahlia Ticket 2,99 Boosts by 20% the dahlia earned for finishing quests.
Experience Ticket 2,99 Boosts by 20% the experience earned for defeating enemies.
GR Ticket 2,99 Boosts by 20% the guild points (GP) earned for finishing quests.
Guilder Ticket 2,99 Boosts by 20% the guilder (money) earned for defeating enemies or finishing quests.
Item Ticket 3,99 Boosts the droprate and quantity of defeated enemies. See page for details.
Results Ticket 3,99 Boosts the number of items earned for finishing quests.
Basically what Marvel heroes does and they seem to be doing pretty well (though I haven't played it in awhile).

Marvel heroes doesn't have a ladder system though. And they are losing a lot of steam really fast since they can't release any fun new content. Everything new they've done is garbage lately.

Whichever one you get well-rolled ancient weapon(s) for first.

Same thing Deathwing said in game. Which isn't bad advice, except I'm trying to figure out how to spend my mats. I did get to grift 50 tonight with a few tweaks based on his suggestions but it's a slog and not very interesting. Which makes me think I'd prefer the HOTA build.

Maybe I am just getting older or just cheap but I don't understand why people are actively thinking of ways to give Blizzard more cash Bobby Kotick is doing just fine on his own finding ways to pilfer your pockets without help? I fucking hate DLC and Micro-transactions, I don't think twice about buying games or purchasing a full expansion, and with an MMO I actually prefer a subscription model over a Pay to win/pay to play model, but I haven't spent a dime on hearthstone, or heros of the storm, sure I like playing them some but I don't need to play barbie dress up or buy a flight purple faggot dragon to enjoy the game. If they can sucker dipshits into buying outfits and portraits more power to them.

Diablo 3 is a fun mindless game to play for a short time before hitting the brick wall, to me this is why seasons are somewhat fun for a few weeks. It's entirely pointless and a waste of time but for some reason a fresh start and mindless farming from scratch to moderate gear is enjoyable for me, but farming from decent gear to 1% + gooder isn't a enjoyable. Charging $5 for it would make me toss Diablo 3 in the trash pile.

On a side note did anyone from the clan get banned? I know I sent a message to Mudcrush the other night asking but I never got an answer.

The point is that hopefully a paid seasons thing brings more to the game every three months so itbkasts longer.

You also pay 15 a month for shitty mmos, which is the same thing.

Hey Vorph, I think my question got lost in the debate about p2w stuff and double cache.... Can you take a look at mine and offer any suggestions? Thanks.
Not a crusader specialist but from a quick glance, your weapon is obviously not ancient and not gifted, you don't have holy % and crit dmg on the amulet so it's pretty bad other than the good passive, no vit roll on bracers, pretty sure a vit roll on the belt would give you more health than a % health(though that might not be true, you could check with another random belt with vit though to compare), pretty sure an AR roll is better than elite dmg reduction on chest since it applies to everything even the elite affixes that aren't reduced by elite dmg reduction like stupid arcane sentries, helm could use a blessed hammer roll instead of vit(which is why the bracers need vit), AR is better than armor in general for STR based class for the legs and you should probably socket full str there too and your unity could use crit dmg instead of crit chance possibly, not sure which is better due to the law. Oh and shield could use hammer % also instead of area damage.

So yeah bunch of stuff I'd say you can improve, but the absolute biggest improvements would be getting an ancient flail with a gift so you can have max stats and craft a perfect chd/holy%/socket/str or cc hellfire amlulet.

And a look at a guide says apparently you want ressource cost reduction on a bunch of stuff, so there's that too.

Thanks Pyros. I'll check that out when back at the house. Most of the armor I had to use a reroll to get something as close to optimal as I could, but will see if I have the ability to do any of the other substances.

The flail is pissing me off, had like 30 darklight and some other random one but not a single other Johanna. What is 'gift?'

Johanna is a rare flail iirc so it's a bitch to get an ancient one via upgrade rare, definitely try to reroll legendary once you get a normal one rather than spamming upgrades. Could probably use an ancient random weapon and cube johanna though, with stricken I don't know how good Furnace is, especially if you're not doing 50+ already(and since your gems are still 30, I guess that's not the case).

Gift of Ramaldnana or whatever, it adds a socket to a weapon, they're rare legendary consumables. Lets you get 4 actual stats+socket, which is a massive improvement for obvious reasons. Can get damage roll, damage %, main stat and then whatever your build makes use of like vit or ressource cost reduction or cooldown reduction or whatever.

Ramaladni's Gift. Allows you to add a socket to a weapon. You always want an ancient weapon with no socket, so if you get one that is socketed, roll the socket off into another stat at the Enchanter and then use a Ramaladni's gift to socket it again.

It's a pretty rare drop though.

Yep being forced to grind unfun content for super rare drops didn't really hold my attention. I actually liked MH better when the end-game setup was basically full uniques with a few cosmics here and there and some any-where droppable artifacts. They went down a bad road (for me, personally) adding items like Hand of Doom. I also don't care for the 52 reworks since I really despise short cooldown abilities. WoW does the same shit and I find playing WoW managing 100 30 second cooldowns super tedious.

You could probably have said that you expect substantially more/better content additions alongside a paid season pass in the first post about it, or if you did then made it clearer. I'd pay for DLC that seems to be worth the money (like a class $10-20 as long as it's fun and original).

I actually had 4 drop this season, currently at P400, but I've never seen them in prior seasons or on non season.

I actually hate microtransactions as well, but I also understand that continually supporting a game with zero sub cost with newer content comes at a cost. I mean, they could have just released RoS and called it a day. There is no reason to support players with seasons other than "<3 blizzard". Eventually it'll come to an end. I'd rather they come out with another expansion but thats a whole lot of content and work and as such time. I think people are basically saying "Hey I don't mind tossing you a few bucks occasionally as long as the content train keeps rolling forward and we see new things occasionally". Otherwise, it will eventually stop because there's no reason to devote time and money into something that makes you nothing. Blizzard eventually needs to monetize it, or else the seasons and contents will stop, and it will just turn into an "auto-leaderboard reset" every X days.

My ideas on the buffs were just that, buffs. And yes, probably would not work during seasons. There are tons of ways to monetize though, and they should explore some of that before ending content for D3.

Not all reasons for keeping players playing have to be immediately realized. Diablo 3 can operate at a loss because it keeps players within the bnet ecosystem. Many other companies do this, but I have no idea if it actually nets them profit in the long term.

Is there a website somewhere lists all the seasonal conquests and their aggregate rewards? Like what you need to get the special conquest portrait? I feel a bit silly for rolling seasonal hardcore if getting to level 70 was the only one needed. But still, hardcore has been fun...so far...

You can do everything on hardcore, but it's a lot harder obviously. You mean journey too, conquests are just parts of the journey objectives(you need to do 3 conquests).

There's this list that starts after the first 4 chapters:Seasons Journey, all chapter requriements - Forums - Diablo III
First 4 chapters is easy shit and gets you the base portrait and the ugly as shit blue dog pet. Then going further in the season journey gives you slightly better versions of the portrait(first one has wood frame, then rock, copper, silver, gold and last one is like diablo-ish red, looks nice, think I posted a screenshot like last page or whatever).

So on HC, it'd take a while cause there's a lot of shit to do to get there, including doing a GR60 solo, which requires really good gear and a solid class and shit. On SC, it's a ton easier to do GR60 solo since you can optimize damage and die a couple of times no problem and shit. This is especially true with all their shitty servers issues and the lag a lot of stuff creates.

Obviously though if you don't care about the best portrait, then it's doable in like 12hours of playing, including self solo leveling to get the initial portrait and the dog.
