I'm a well known Diablo3 fanboy but the story was bad even by Diablo standards. My personal favorite is how Azmodan is the best battlefield commander in all of Hell but is constantly popping up Scooby Doo villain style complaining about you foiling his plans then telling you his next plan.

In general Azmodan/Diablo constantly talking to you sucked. I kinda liked how what's her face in the tower talks to you, makes sense for her character plus she's even physically popping up while taunting you, so it's fine, but Azmodan shouldn't even talk to you directly, or maybe just like once or twice and not to say shit like "you just destroyed my shit but it's ok, I'm gonna kill you". Fuck that, he should be misdirecting if anything.

In general I feel they missed something great they could have done with demons reading your inner thoughts and tormenting you and shit like that. They don't play on their "aspect" at all, Azmodan never tries to tempt you, Belial is a fucking terrible liar since he lies with apparently no actual objective or purpose until you come and kick him in the face, and Diablo certainly doesn't try to terrorize you. Instead they all chat with you constantly spamming empty threats(other than Belial who's like helping you or some shit, because he's lying but why would he help you while lying...).

EDIT: nevermind, Cydea. God, story so bad couldn't even think of an element I've played through yesterday. Still not sure I'd use her as an example of good story writing.

The second expac should have you fighting a group of evil nephalem attempting to do something diablo-ish to some soulstone or something. Their group could be made up of a bunch of different classed characters like a Necromancer and an Assassin, a Sorc, etc. You could fight them individually over the course of the game, then all together at the end.

If they were smart they'd release expansions that had a backstory for each character and charge people $25 each.

they could make an expansion where you redeem leah and then she finally starts that inn she talked about and you need to work it. kinda like the sims

Can you play Act 5 on any difficulty to start? I assume yes... so are you guys going to do normal or whatever Torment level you're already comfortable with?

Torment 1 I'll be rolling. Nice exp boost, and with a buddy. Also, set legendaries only drop on torment and I wouldn't complain if I got a few leveling up

Torment 1, apparently the game at 70 in Torment is a whole different animal then 60, so I will keep it low for now. That and I don't want to die with the 10 pools of reflection i have
