Yeah, her being in a computer was no big deal to me, I always wanted to see a post-Library River. But from what I've read in the past, I'm in the minority being a huge fan of her character.

edit: And if were posting pictures...this one wins.

... and Jenny is growing on me.... Gave me a boner.
I wholeheartedly agree good sir!

Although "babysitter kiddies in space" can go right to hell...

Wild ass theory as to Clara, with no substantiation other than my own conspiracy theory gland acting up.... The Tardis created her spread across time, as mentioned earlier part of the Tardis "DNA" is that is builds any tool you need. THe Time Vortex has had a human form before (The Doctor's Wife) so could have learned how to "build" a human that he would need and drop that human off at times he would need it. The Clara we see now ends up being the template for the Tardis to use to create the others. It programs them similar to the way the chameleon circuit reprograms the doctors memories when needed. Of course probably completely off my rocker, but there it is.

As for who will pick up the mantle when Smith hangs it up???

while driving home tonight, I have to wonder, will the doctors daughter be in the finale or 50th Anniversary special? Moffat fought hard to keep her alive, the even had to reshoot the ending. 3 years into Moffat's tenure and she has yet to make an appearance. Being show runner, he has final say. Georgia Moffet should have been in Season 7 at least. For a guy that likes to troll the fans and fight for his characters, he has dropped the ball many times

you cant have a black time traveler, at least not one that visits the earth's past.

RTD tried to cover that in the Shakespeare Code.

Chuk makes a good point though. When Paterson Joseph was rumored to be the 10th Doctor, I wasn't sure how they'd make that work. You could always avoid certain areas of Earth's history, but it seems kind of gimmicky to pick a black (or female) Doctor and not have to deal with all the sexism/racism our History has. They couldn't even have a Scottish or Northern English Doctor without poking a lot of fun at those areas

they even referenced it a little bit when the doctor loses his memory for a while in victorian england and martha jones is with him. she ends up as a maid at a school and the people there give her shit about her skin color. i can imagine a black doctor going to memphis in 1963 with his white as milk companion to stop the daleks from retooling their toilet plunger zappers to have more firepower and meets up with the locals. result, first Doctor to be lynched and then the end of the human race.

I have no clue what is going on anymore.

Are we supposed to know what that was ?

So is that the pre-Doctor or post-Doctor?

Edit: Or the next Doctor. Ambiguousness is ambiguous. It is indeed something, as already said, I suppose.

Well considering the current Doctor recognizes him, he has to be a past incarnation.

Just watched Cybermen and the finale back to back. The finale was the highlight of the season at least but some of that might have just been in comparison to another disappointing Cybermen episode. It took me faaar too long to recognise Tamzin Outhwaite, the voice had me sure but damn she looked so old

Moving on, mostly enjoyed the finale. The ending makes me wonder if some of those spoilers from a week or two ago for the 50th could turn out to be right. Hurt might be able to pull it off as well!

My only real grumble is that they brought the young lass back to life, why not let him face deadly consequences to someone the audience actually knows for once. Since the revival the only recurring character that has had a final death that I can recall is Harriet Jones since it seems River Song will be back. As for River Song, if they always wrote her like they did this week I don't think most people would have a problem with her. I wouldn't.

Anyways, yes definitely the highlight of this season with the "ghost" episode being the only other one I liked.

Edit: Thank christ I left the SA spoiler thread until I'd seen the finale, someone posted the entire plot summary in there 5 days ago

I guess someone didn't like Moffat enough to ignore his plea for them not to be spread about after the dvd release fiasco.

Well since it's out, let the discussion begin. Will spoiler for the US fans who are waiting for the airing.

The Sun reported weeks ago something along the lines of Hurt being the 'real' 9th Doctor, which makes Eccleston 10th, Tennant 11th, and Smith the 12th. And that the reason the Doctor forgot his true 9th incarnation would be made known to us in the anniversary special.

That being said, I hope that's not true. As silly as that sounds, if that's what he's trying to do, I hope he would just make Hurt something more like, say, the 8th Doctor grown old. There's already side comics/stories where the 8th Doctor was living and fighting during the War so if that's the angle he's using Hurt for, that would make more sense than a whole misnumbering nonsense.

Course if Hurt turns out to be the new version of the Valeyard, i'll be completely happy with that too. Hell, I'd prefer that to be the actual reason for him than an earlier regeneration.

It seemed straight forward to me

The Master explained the original guy (Theta Sigma or whatever) chose the name Doctor to make people "better". There are 11 Incarnations of the Doctor. Amongst those regenerations. (IMO 8-9) The Doctor regenerated into John Hurt who killed trillions upon trillions in the Time War. He ended it and regenerated into the 9th Doctor who kept that promise to make people better.

PS Fuck the River haters. Hope she's around forever.

Well now.

It does indeed look like John Hurt is the 9th Doctor... or rather the regeneration that follows the McGann Doctor and precedes the Eccleston Doctor and is presumably the one responsible for the Time War.

I wonder if we will only see him in the 50th or if they might not do more with this version?
