aye, before the edit there was a line, "let the conspiracy theories begin". i wasnt attacking geffe, was just pointing out the person who made those images was simply messing around.

I did think it was really odd that girl said she wanted to be Queen of the Universe. But that kid creeps me the fuck out so I'm biased.

Started the season heavy with Time War mentions, ends the season with Time War mentions and the reveal of the Time War "Doctor"

Going to repeat what many have said but in a different way. The Doctor is a name that he chose, Hurt broke that promise so he isnt a "Doctor" per se. So Matt is still the 11th "Doctor". Hurt would/could technically be a regeneration of 8 but not in the lore, he would just be a time lord

I'm with it, and dig it, and want all these things to unfold in awesome Moffat style... it just irks me that after that whole "He's not the Doctor, he abandoned that..." speech, the guy is introduced as "THE DOCTOR!" in a big Sergio Leone marquee. Maybe it is a reference I'm missing, or just too meta for me to get. I would have been happy with just "Introducing John Hurt," even something like, "Introducing John Hurt as ?????" oohh we're so sneaky, cock tease, el oh el. Anyways, I still have faith it'll be good.

I mean he is still the same Time Lord, just not "The Doctor". So introducing him as The Doctor still makes sense. True, they could have went another way to make it more ambiguous or less confusing, but i like it the way they did it. Thats what ive been getting out of the multiple viewings of that scene

Meant to share this earlier for those that haven't seen it. Most of you probably have though.

We all know the doctors, just mapping out the regenerations, no real reason behind it. Apparently the are 12/13 regenerations depending on if you consider the Lets Kill Hitler partial regeneration counts or not. The rule really is thrown out I guess

1. Hartnell
2. Troughton
3. Pertwee
4. T Baker
5. Davison
6. C Baker
7. McCoy
8. McGann
9. Ecclestone
10. Tennant
11. Human Tennant
12. Smith
13. Partial regeneration Smith

Somewhere in there is Hurt.

And like was said before, we dont know if Hartnell is the first incarnation, or if the time war took more regeneration out of the Time Lord called The Doctor

Human Tennant is definitely not a regeneration any more than Time Lord Donna is. At least imo. Regeneration requires the previous Doctor to die. This was the 9th's regeneration energy, so it's more like 10.5

BUT...Tennant is the 11th if Hurt is the 9th.

So the "Fall of the 11th" predicted at Trenzalore for the 50th anniversary is probably Tennant's Doctor dying.....AGAIN.

Im watching BBCA and they are showing "The Next Doctor" episode. I never realized that the dude who thinks hes the Doctor is the actor who plays The Governor on that horrible zombie show.

10 deferred the regeneration to his hand in the jar and that hand made Human Tennant/Doctor Donna (swapping genetics). here is the video of him doing it, it cuts off before the line about him defering it.http://youtu.be/UVQRnJIl8os

From the Doctor Who Wikia :

Shot by a Dalek in the previous episode, the Tenth Doctor regenerates inside his TARDIS while Donna Noble, Captain Jack Harkness and Rose Tyler are barely able to watch due to the light. In mid-process, the Doctor directs the rest of the regenerative energy into the container housing his severed hand. Rose, Donna and Jack are confused. The Doctor explains that he used the regeneration to heal himself from the Dalek energy blast, but siphoned off the remaining energy that would have changed his appearance and personality into his other hand - a biological receptacle. The Doctor says he didn't want to change. Rose is relieved that "her" Doctor is still there.

I may be wrong, but that seems like a legitimate regeneration used up.

As for the Fall of the 11th, thats a good theory

Heh, no bro. Jait had it right, Tennant's human form is 10.5 if anything; or 11.5 if they really do screw up the numbering with this Hurt shit. No one is calling that a full regeneration, nor have I ever heard that even speculated anywhere. It does sound almost legitimate by the way he explained it, but I think most people more or less just kinda glanced over that little spiel than took it to heart. The whole notion of him creating a human version of himself just seemed like rubbish Davies created to give the Rose storyline some closure.

I mean you can call it that if you like but it just makes it all more confusing. I'd just like to think of the notion of 13 regenerations per Time Lord lifespan has been completely thrown out of the window. People have been debating it for years, hell even myself at one point, but I considered one obvious fact that's been in front of us the entire time that shatters the notion of "13" - The Valeyard. He's not in the current Who universe right now, but he existed at one point, and was admittedly a regeneration between the Doctor's 12th and 13th - which would automatically throw the finality of 13 out the window altogether, especially if you're going to count the half-regenerations as a full one.

But Jait, don't be silly. Tennant can't die again. They get timey-wimey in this show from time to time, but making a gigantic time-travel blunder of killing the same version of the Doctor two times in two different fashions....no no no, that's more headache than heartache. :p

I just wouldn't be surprised if they milked it.

FFS I teared up during his "I don't wanna go" moment and that's bullshit. Especially setting it up with Rose being the last thing he wanted to see before he died.

I don't think I said you were wrong, just that it was my opinion. Great thing about Time-Travel is you can retcon whatever you want legally

One episode it's a fact that Tennant is the 10th Doctor and a few years later he might be the 11th

And to be fair on FoH I argued that Human Tennant was (or rather would become) the Valeyard. Glad no one called me out on that
tongue.png
But I do think with Jenny regenerating despite the Doctor's asserting she could NOT that Human 10th might also regenerate. So what happens when that 10th loses Rose to old age only to find out he has to go on and on and on....without a TARDIS? He finds a way back to his real Universe and unleashes hell. At least that's how I would've seen it.

Given the closure inherent to that storyline, I'd be surprised if that was ever pulled off. Most of the things I've read concerning the Doctor's regeneration is that they've thrown the idea of a limited number out the window. A key to this is his casual use of regeneration power to heal River in Angels Take Manhattan. She seemed concern over the use but he did it without a second thought which could be seen in one of two lights, the first of which is that it doesn't matter and the second of which is that he doesn't care. The first would imply a near infinite number while the second would imply that he has a lot more to go before giving that away could be seen as a problem.
