If you are being dual laned or tri you can also buffer the stacks across the targets for your harass. So get 3/3 or 3/3/2 stacks and then go to town. Of course that is probably very rare and situational and team fights Peugeot don't last long enough, but with attack speed, echo sabre, they come pretty fast. Not sure if it should be adjusted to be more like Troll Warlord? Maybe stacks reset if you have to go to trees? Once you get 4 the buff basically lasts forever on you.

Timber is a direct and hard counter to monkey king. I am sure there are a couple more as well (for when timber banned).

So the Monkey King map looks fucking awesome. I'm not paying $13 for it, but yeah...

Really disappointed. Last night, I played my last "old school" DOTA 2 match, and I randomed Gyro. I actually used to love Gyro too, but man he's such a dog shit hero right now. Was kind of a sad last game to play.

I would agree with this, but I tried it last night. In the hands of a pro maybe. But the average player its going to be tough. The jump range is huge. Longer than most people's shooting range (looked it up. Jump range is 1000 distance). Plus, the C/D is 3 seconds, starting at the moment you jump. So he can spring from tree to tree pretty quickly. The thing that also makes it bullshit is juking through the trees? Those old exciting pro plays where Miracle or someone out jukes his opponent in the trees and manages at last second TP out or even a kill is now impossible. He gives flying vision so you can't hide in the trees, while he himself is not visible. (I tested this in 'demo hero' to make sure, though in actual game it might be off)

To make attempting to escape a gank by his team even worse, the chase potential with tree jump is pretty impressive. Its fast, keeps you out of vision and creep aggro and has a jump range of 1000. It lets you skip pathing. So good luck getting away. They've added in a 3 second can't use after damage similar to blink dagger. But, creeps and towers no longer trigger that damage cooldown. Oh. And he can use his Q while on a tree. His Q's distance is over 1000.

He'll get brought back in line like so many others. Earthspirit more recently. New additions always go through a stupidly op phase.

I expect so. He needs tuning definitely. Just seems to get too many positives with out the drawbacks. Better stealth than Riki honestly, without the fragility. Great mobility and damage? With lifesteal to boot? Yeah. He needs tuning.

I was thinking, and I think Sniper might be a better counter than TImber. Will have to test it, but shrapnel giving vision, then being able to attack at range and fast enough to keep him from being able to leap tree to tree is prolly the best way to handle him. I'm just not a fan of a hero that has to be countered by another hero and can't have an item build that helps counter him.

Riki and any other stealth gets countered by dust and wards. Heavy magic gets countered by pipe and bkb. Glass cannons like sniper can be beat by blademail. Mana can be difused, armor can be reduced with deso. But hiding in the trees? Don't know how to counter that outside timber or heros that give persistant flying vision.

I feel like I'm gonna see a lot of hand of Midas in pubs as everyone is trying to get level 25 bonuses. Wish OSFrog would have nurfed it with this patch.

Purge analysis is hilarious. He's never going to finish this.

It's literally been like 10 minutes on Brewmaster...and he's still going.

I don't even know why is everybody watching the patch analysis, it has remarkably little predictive value what will the pros spam and to pretend that you can know the impact of the patch just by reading the notes is ridiculous. The pros do it obviously for the easy views.

I haven't played Dota 3 yet, but conceptually it is pretty awesome. Stat gains and level 17-25 always seemed like an awkward WarCraft 3 carry-over than they seemed purposeful. I think the talents are a fun bonus, but won't be as game changing as some of these preview vids claim. What percent of games do you ever even reach level 25? Maybe 5-10%?

The new map, runes, jungle spawns, and wells seem to be hugely game changing though. All in all, I think I am going to like it.

Predict the meta no, but it does give you ideas and analysis that may go over common folks head. Also, some things that get changed in patches actually need explaining as to what the fuck they mean sometimes.

So this does get released on the main client today, right? I was pretty sure that's what they said, but I wanted to double check (it hadn't been patched as of about an hour ago).

Is this dropping right now? It says down for maintenance yet my Steam client has nothing new to update.

edit; Nevermind, there it is. Finally.

Just had my last game pre-patch about 10 minutes ago. Hour long game back and forth with a surprisingly good and fun team. Was a great game and we ended up fucking stomping them. Feels goooooood.
