Not sure what happened to Dignitas but this past week or so they seem like a completely different team, not in a good way.

On the other hand, Fnatic is on a roll recently. They're beating everyone in a lot of very one sided stomps with a really fun to watch super agressive style that reminds me of their hon days. They're not on the level of Alliance and Na'Vi I think, but if they play like that at TI3 I wouldn't be too surprised if they get top 4-6.

I am thrilled to have Abbadon coming finally, especially an unnerfed version. He became so popular as a support/semi-carry in HoN that they nerfed his ult so it no longer autocast, and you were unable to cast it through stun/silence. It kinda shit all over one of the more fun parts of the hero. That said, hooray new heroes!

Iirc in HoN they also made his shield not remove stuns anymore, which is a huge nerf. Your carry gets roared? Np just shield to dispel. Also yeah his ult autoactivation is a big deal especially since unlike hon it also disjoints on activation. One funny interaction is that it self dispels Doom.

With that said the bug list on the test server is absurdly long. They fixed like 15bugs in update 2, and there's still about 15 to go, some of which are fairly big. Some of them are beneficial though, for example the ulti healing on health loss(so you heal when Bloodseeker ults you, which isn't supposed to happen) or his shield explosion hitting invisible/fogged units.

VP vs Navi g1 was the most entertaining game i've seen in a while. The team that lost was so mad that they forfeited the 2nd game

Hahaha, I was wondering if that's why the forfeited. I was semi listening to the audio while working and was mad when I didn't get to watch it when I realized the outcome.

Spoiler incase someone hasn't watched and shit.

Think they just took too long to finish, not their standin fault, at some point Furion was so farmed he could 1vs2 anyone on their team, but they kinda fucked around quite a bit and took too long to splitpush into rax(they had furion and morphling, it shouldn't be that hard). Think maybe they were trying to get morph farmed to make sure they win teamfights but that was retarded when other team had a midas naix who was farming very very well and a doombringer and blink SF both of which can flash farm very quickly. Hvost played really fucking good until near the end when he started suiciding randomly, but he basically kept them in the game until Dendi and Kuroky had farmed enough for him to suicide and still win the fight ^^. Lacoste was key also to their win, that teamfight bot lane where Hvost tries to backstab and dies before the fight starts was basically won by Darkseer and SF comboing.

Is there anywhere you can watch these matches after the fact or do you have to purchase the tournament thing to see them. I wanted to check out some of the pro matches you guys are always talking about

Abaddon in his unnerfed form starts as a support but can quickly turn into a pretty hard carry. This applies more to games where you are supporting, the person you are supporting is terrible, and you realize you have to take charge.

He's a pretty decent mid too. His armor is kinda shit but the shield blocks a lot of damage and removes a lot of annoying shit like QoP's dot and he can push the lane really hard using his passive on creeps, kinda like Beastmaster aura plus the shield explosion, then his high base movespeed lets him get the runes against heroes who don't have blinks and shit. His burst dmg early is pretty high too if you get levels quickly. Overall he can do a lot of stuff, even though he's most useful as a hard support.

Also don't know if I mentionned but due to the orb change in dota2, his passive stacks with orb of venom. An early oov+passive even as a support creates a big movespeed differential(you and your allies that attack the target get 15%movespeed, enemy slowed by 17%) and the fact he has 60base dmg and a good health pool can make him a threat very early on. Maybe not in a trilane but in dual lanes you can generally man up and fuck people up with the absorb from shield and the passive.

Hey guys, it's been over a year since I've played Dota2 so I'm coming back as a pretty big noob. I have the basics down, and button combos and what heroes do what is coming back slowly as I play more.

Question though, as there are a ton of new heroes I'm not familar with. I'm pretty aggressive, but I was never good enough to play a carry. Sometimes, rarely, I'd play a carry, and the other team would stink, and then of course I had some fun pub stomping. But for the most part I prefer support, as it's a bit easier, IMO, but just as critical to games. Problem is a support toon doesn't usually match up well with my aggressive nature. I dive way too much I guess...

I've heard there are now some more deadly support heroes to play, such as Nyx Assassin that are support, but do get some killing power behind them. Reminds me of Nymph from HoN after some farm. haha. Maybe these would be more suited to my play style?

Any suggestion for a hero for me to start learning on again? New or old?

Thanks.

Grab anything with invisibility or makes good use of blink dagger, so you can dive more easily. Spirit Breaker should be right up your alley.

As a support I play very aggressively harassing and trying to deny.. suits me over being a carry really.
