It really is simple though. Substitute in a non-sex crime (que tanoomba lecturing us on how rape isn't a sex crime) and have 15 people accuse him of that instead.

At this point, its doubtful there's even evidence they had sex, much less evidence of drugging. That sort of thing can be hard to prove unless you jump on it quickly because the drugs will leave your system. Which sucks, because it's a despicable crime.
I don't think shakedowns of celebrities are uncommon; but I have no evidence of such so I shouldn't put it forward as likely. It's just a possibility.

What do you mean the argument completely changes? If 15 people who have no reason to lie tell me they saw Bill Cosby do a hit and run, or Bill Cosby shoplifting, or Bill Cosby doing a line of cocaine off a park bench, I'm going to strongly suspect that Bill Cosby did just those things. Why are you trying to say that the standard is different because we're talking about a sex crime?

My uncle met Bill Cosby last year. He looked at him and said "the belt will wail tonight" and Cosby started laughing and invited him to his table and they talked for 10 minutes. He did not rape my uncle.

Strongly suspecting something is fine, and reasonable under the circumstances. Convicting them of any crime is a different matter. I don't know if you suggested he be charged or convicted of anything, just wanted to clear that up.

The standard is different becouse the only "eye wittness testimony" is from the accusers. The example you are giving indicate independent witness with no connection to the crime.
I am not trying to downplay the fact that 15 people have come forward, that is a lot and in my mind carries weight, but your example is wrong for the reason i stated. The witness in this case are not independant, they have a dog in the fight.

Jimmy Savile got away with sex offences for over 40 years. There were consistent rumours he liked kids, which he always denied. Just looking at pics of him and it should've been obvious.
As I said earlier, if he can get away with it for so long, there's no reason Cosby can't
