You shouldn't care about what his opinions are. However, what you should care about (and I think you do) is raising your children to be good adults.
How would you feel if you were walking behind a child and everytime he asked his parents a question, they responded with "Because I told you so" or "That is how it is" or some other bullshit non-answer? I know I would be annoyed as shit at those parents. They were helping to quash kid's most important qualities qualities, curiosity and creativity, and replacing them with appeals to authority. Yet a church service is an organized version of that. Every question in the universe, given an answer already! Why is it that way? God did it or church authorities told you it was.
So yeah, ignore my opinion. Ignore Hodj's opinion. Certainly don't feel like you need to justify yourself to us. Instead, take some time, think about it and take some time to consider whether it really is beneficial to your kids to have them spend over an hour every week getting their curiosity and creativity drummed out of them. Won't life in general do enough of that already?

On the one hand, everything Hodj said up to his Rickshawing was demonstrably correct. On the other hand, I think the cheap shot he took at Tarrant was a bridge too far. This especially true when you consider how many ways one can make fun of Tarrant without citing his current life situation. ..... but the zinger was pretty funny.
