I just checked. he was pretty harsh on dragons dogma 2. "bad performance, terrible story, bad quests" "I didnt get a review copy."He certainly likes the action style of "RPG" that is on rails, as he keep releasing videos about how excited he is about Avowed (Obsidian's action game in development).
Still, even with that large flaw, at least his takes on the more classic style wRPGs is pretty good, and his videos are formatted well; so he remains the most reliable reviewer that I have found, for my tastes.
For those of us that played BG3 on releases all the romance bullshit was bugged to initiate no matter your relationship with the character (right away). On the couple of 50% replays that I did later, it wasn't that bad and they didn't have everyone immediately start wanting to sex up my character (well, outside of the Gith). Plus, in the first playthrough, I killed the vampire the first time he tried to bite me and Wyll died when I refused to help his demon lady, so that helped too.Yeah BG3 was really bad too at the beginning. It was fucking cringy as fuck. Ended up being a great game and that shit stopped after 1st act, but damn, why do I have to go through all that? It was literally pushed in your face. I can see if you ask for it or whatever, but why does it have to be pushed like that?

oops already posted, but yeah money is being spent on all aspects of this game.
Skill up's review is pretty damning.
Mortismal is positive about it.
Huh this is pretty bizarre:
You can hide youtube channels? I keep down voting the ones I don't like to make them go away.I automatically hide channels that ever have "The Truth" in their video titles. I've never seen one that wasn't just opinions or people discussing subject matters they aren't well versed in.

Garbage of the Year right?I generally like Morti and his gaming interests align reasonably close to mine so I'm not really sure what to make of his review. GOTY? I genuinely can't believe that.
its not as hard as you might imagine. what came out in 2024?I generally like Morti and his gaming interests align reasonably close to mine so I'm not really sure what to make of his review. GOTY? I genuinely can't believe that.
I mean their metacritic average isn't even that high so that's pretty telling if they handpicked the reviewers and still didn't land 90+ average. It's like 84 average, which if gaming reviews were done correctly would be very good but seeing as how gaming reviews often scale from 7 to 10 makes it mediocre. I watched the skill up review and while I think it was too long and yapping too much about the same shit in circles, I'm definitely going to assume the game is lukewarm piss, with low impactful choices, no tension and a very whimsical pixar-like adventure with one big turn point near the end that eventually gets resolved anyway(although the Skill Up guy mentionned that last part was actually good). Poor writing, poor characters, dogshit combat, yeah that sounds pretty much like what I'd expected.Well after watching this Fextra video, I can completely discount all those 5/5s and 10s. If anything, this makes the negative reviews even more reliable and damning.
