I never ended up seeing the movie when it had its 1-day theater release. But I was able to find it online today. I'll watch it before starting season 2.

Yeah, I’ll grant you that Fullbringer arc was 1000% garbage but the guy has redeemed himself multiple times over now with TYBW.

I wouldnt go that far, the best Arc is still season 1 up till Aizen reveal - that was some peak anime because no one saw it coming. Everything after that was near levels of gutter trash and i bet you TYBW will still have Sissygo dropping the soap every time he shows up until he uses the power of friendship to 1 shot someone. I watched the previous seasons of TYBW but its like

I mean, you're not exactly wrong but - isn't that sort of the trope of every Shonen anime of that caliber?
I can't write Bleach off for doing that when that same sort of "not my final form" and winning with the "power of friendship" is such a commonplace theme in so much other anime.

I think the argument is that Bleach takes that trope and dilates itself with it. I wouldn't know, I never made it much farther than Rukia's rescue. Nothing wrong with the show at that point, god knows I've watched much worse stuff and I can't actually say for sure why I lost interest but I'm guessing the episode count was too much for me. The idea of wading through another mega series like Bleach or One Piece is just completely repellent to me. I'm still surprised that I made it through all of Naruto, Shippuden, and a sizable chunk of Boruto before I couldn't take anymore.
Kurama forever, and idgaf if he probably got reborn in a new form before the ink was even dry on his death you cant do that to me
As for current shows, newest MHA would be a swing and a miss for me even if it wasn't stuck with the unenviable task of following after the climax of one of the best subplots in shonen history.
The show generally did a nice job humanizing the league of villains but the writer tried way too fucking hard with Toga and without a fraction of the build-up that Dabi got either. Dabi manifesting Rei's quirk was one of the most savage twists of the emotional knife I have ever seen and it succeeded in making me feel bad for him. All of them are tragic stories but when most of them get wielded like a blade, the shit with Toga is like being beaten with a club. The worst part is she's probably gonna end up in therapy at the end of the series when what she deserves is a noose. The one thing I truly hate about the MHA universe is how it completely hinges upon a refusal to use lethal force against villains that's even less believable than Batman's refusal to kill the Joker.

Yea, I'm not sure what western media's obsession with ugly women is. I didn't really used to focus on titties that much, but I constantly find myself going "nice" in anime because I sure as hell notice how flat they are in american slop the rare times I bother to watch it now.
