The JP Voice Actor's did a great job, there is a few instances when you can tell they do not hear a lot of spanish style voices, but it's really good compared to that shit-fest of the English VA(She/It whatever that thing is, is just "flat" there is no emotion in any of the delivery). I've also heard that the german? I think it was is really good.. I don't know on that front at all though.

Even the re-recorded lines for the Sphene fight are mehh.. but I will say this both actors for Zoraal Ja fucking nailed what they were given..

It's the new Chaotic set ilvl730 called Clouddark , the rest of the sets look pretty good also but some of them are .. interesting choices.

It's the Archfiend armor combined with a few other odd pieces including the new helm from Chaotic, with the warrior Zeta ARR relic weapon.

MSQ hasn't really picked up that much yet. If you're not interested in the raids then I'd wait a bit longer.

I did pick up the entire Clouddark set, which I'll put below.

i was immediately annoyed that they fucked up an "explore the savage jungles of south american inspired fantasy land" by making into a multicultural utopia that functions perfectly, with nothing new to discover, no ancient secrets that the people living there don't know tons about already, and no inherent danger to the setting.

no human sacrifice. no tribal chestbeating. really no savagery. why did they send us to a savage land of savages and no savagery was going on? why do the soldiers even have their spikey cricket bat swords and goofy wood and feather (yet better than thet last expansions expertly crafted by gods armor) armor? who were they fighting? they had a perfect society.

Tural was only recently united under the banner of Galool Ja Ja around 80 years ago after he conquered the southern continent - prior to then, everyone was just fighting each other and the lands were split. Then he came in and basically took it all over and ruled it.

So ya, things were relatively peaceful now, although there were still elements that thought that was bullshit and were scheming to take over (the Iksar dudes). There were still dangers as well they had to guard against - rogue factions (like the traditionalist giants) and the various monsters.

But they chose to write off the conflict as being historical, it's not like it's a real place so they can't change the lore!

Imagine there's these out of place ruins out in the desert, the name is strange but pronouncable, you go inside and there's hints of a destroyed civilisation from another world...

They told us they were refencing this stuff, then it's just some gay lalafel volcano you don't interact with and you have an awkward icecream on the outside and skip the cutscene.

AND THEN. You go to a throwaway endgame dungeon with a better environment than the zone it's in and it's exactly this! But it's not part of the story they just reused Shadowlands assets!?

Meanwhile PoE 2 has you do a human sacrifice on the top of an aztec pyramid thousands of years in the past for 2 skill points.

The volcano thing was actually really important. Azem and the volcano have been referenced across multiple xpacs. It was originally played off as a joke, but now it is pretty clear it factors into the key we found.

And he invented a new language for everyone to learn. Even the old people. And even taught them to eliminate all their accents and just be spanish. Except for the folks who moved north. Those got an american accent

These guys did yotsuyu, quintus, werlyt. They can write non childish shit.

The steppes, uldah (slavery) garlemald are all harsh places, but this is a cute little multi culty happy utopia they made out of the fucking aztecs. Its idiotic

They wanted an American themed expansion and hired Ameican consultants, America is gay and diverse so that's what we got.

This has been talked about to death, but the main issue is they were really set on the "let's have a vacation and nothing gloomy!" theme, at least at the start. I think it's a cry of help from the dev team - xpac based on a vacation, beast tribe quest about a travel agency (which sucks btw, I skip all the cutscenes for that because I just can't give a fuck about the story there)

For the English game also, they used a different VA agency for the Turali areas and that was primarily America VA and a VA studio. The VA aren't horrible, but you can tell the direction they got was probably "ya, so do dubbed goofy anime cartoon" and it stands in contrast to the UK VA side where they are told to add gravitas to the scenes.
