She could get the also lyse treatment where she is much better when you are rarely near her. But we didnt get nearly as much shit writing from lyse

If you look back at core Stormblood, Lyse's whole shtick was magical savior of a long occupation by Garlemond that was almost completely unearned. "Hey kid, you got spunk. even though I've only known you for like a couple days, you get to lead the whole resistance movement!". She never felt like she had any meaningful character development beyond really superficial stuff. I think where Stormblood handled things slightly better is Lyse, while she did hog a lot of scenes, didn't overpower everything to the extent Wuk did. This infographic for Stormblood shows some more context:

Lyse had top lines, but she isn't wildly above everyone else relatively speaking in the top 4 - there are only a few percentage points of difference. But compare Dawntrail

Look at the top 4 here - Wuk literally has more total share of lines in the expansion than the next 3 combined. The last time there was anything close to that much of an imbalance was Heavensward, but storywise that favored Alphinaud because literally all the Scions are MIA for most of the damn thing, interaction with other characters shuffles, and Tatauru hangs out in a bar.

I think what they are trying to do is introduce new characters (Wuk, Zero, etc) to act as replacements for the Scions, but they try too much. Either because the character is an OC "self-insert" or a pet character or whatever, but then they don't know how to organically introduce them without trying to shove them. G'raha Tia is Ishikawa's pet character, but she is able to write him well so people don't mind. I didn't mind Zero that much, although I don't think they knew how to handle her outside her "how do I be a human? what are emotions?" trope and she became less interesting as the post-EW patches wore on. Wuk was basically a furry Luffy that was less endearing and annoying as written.

Emet Selch is about where a dialouge heavy expansion character should be, and he has extra voice lines in Stormblood and Endwalker padding the numbers.

Skeletons in China are a whole thing because of the cultural differences/ancestor veneration/worship. It's like the difference between British use of c*nt and the American usage: In Britain, its just a word. In America, its a WORD. Same thing with skeletons in China vs the West.

I didn't say anything about Australia because my knowledge of the swear culture there is limited but its the same principle UK vs US/AUS, then.

During a shorter stream, they confirmed that the “Bozja” type content is coming in the 7.2 patch series - supposedly it will involve islands/reefs. The galaxy explore thing is also coming during the 7.2x patch series

And of course the next WWE raid lol

I'm curious how the Cosmic/Planetary Exploration will tie into Garlemald restoration(They've been saying that is what it will tie into).

My first guess is the tower to go to the moon is there and maybe the Lopporits want to help with Garlemond, but also want to help elsewhere or see if stuff out there can help here.

Im still curious how that looks - as far as we know, all those civilizations in ultima thule were completely wiped out and all life died. Unless Meteon’s “song of hope” actually works and starts to revive life. Like maybe some dragon eggs become viable and hatch, some Omnicrons get powered up, some Ea emerge from their crystals, etc

If you do the gathering beast tribe(EW), you see that dragon eggs actually start becoming viable(with-in the little "dome" the Omnicron/Lopporits made) also shows the other planets(all the ones in the Dead Ends) are there and starting to flourish. Which all the tribes are represented with-in that dome, the first section of Dead Ends is the Namazu, 2nd section is the Omnicrons/Dragon War, and the 3rd section is the Ea.

Ya that does happen there, but it is dynammis doing it. They’re like an alternative form of life that doesn’t use aether, which means they wouldn’t have souls made of aether. Although Meteon used dynammis, so I suppose that could work on a wider scale in terms of hope becoming form and in turn alive

on a side note, those EW tribe quests were probably some of the best they ever did just purely because of the lore potential
