the funny thing is they seemed to have applied little logic to their ban. anyone over 8m gil was banned for 1 week, and their gil was cut by /100. HOWEVER, if you left most of your gil on your retainer, you were untouched. Also any gil on your retainer was untouched, even if you got rolled back for having more than 8m on your own character. So... nice job Square. botting is completely untouched, same bots have been teleport botting 24x7 for weeks now and a ton of asian farmers are now farming ATPs in AK now with teleport hacks.

For those who start arguing "omg all the gil in the economy must be from RMT/hacked accounts", well yes and no. There was an exploit for a week where you could dupe ash bombard and run a hack that rapidly buys the fireworks stuff and then resell it to a vendor for a ton of extra gil. It was something like 2m gil/hour per character. Thats how the gil sellers generated so much gil, not by botting/stealing accounts. All that gil got injected into the market place via RMT and then sellers got a lot of that gil, and Square just banned anyone who made too much since that hacked gil was part of many transactions. But again, poor poor decisions on their part to ignore retainers and to do nothing at all so far about botting and teleport hacking.

Except change a whole lot of mmo's to every mmo ever.

And the reason for that is and why its not going to change is because the people complaining about lack of content put in far more hours than your "average" gamer. I'm not saying playing 40-60 hours a month makes you a poopsocker. I'm saying the average is probably closer to somewhere around 15 hours, the majority of people using these forums are not your average gamer. Thus it is unrealistic to think a company would make enough content for everyone. You can call that defending SE if you will, but people are delusional if they think that it is ever going to change.

I don't doubt there is a lack of end game content, I fully expect it, and I fully expected it before purchasing the game as should anyone who has played mmo's in the past decade.

Have a group of friends on Gilga who are 50 and relic'd looking for a couple of raiders. They will be raiding later but if youre interested pm me, right now I think they need 1 heals 1 dps.

If they're quitting why do they want gil?

I would assume they sell Gil easier on sites like ownedcore or PA is why some ask for it? Someone in FC was asking for Gil also and Springbok when he quit also.

You're thinking of pre-ban prices, they've bounced up since the firework exploit was removed and high end crafters got their assets nuked.

Well I called it quits this last tuesday. Primarly due to some difference of opinions with the guild but also the way they handled the gil suspensions and earlier instance/server bullshit just scared me. I also hated the 2.5 GCD and inaccurate graphics vs actual timing of AE's etc. It was just enough all combined to make me pull the plug before I spent any more of my time ingame. I had 2 accounts, both were max HQ crafted + relic/relic +1 and all 5 melded etc. Had 3 crafters to 50 etc. I took a week off work for launch but other then that have been working 60+ hours and still managed to stay ahead of the curve so its definitely doable if you make use of your time.

Its sad, in so many ways the game was pretty damn good and has long term staying power. If it wasn't for the internal disagreement I'd probably have stuck it out to the next content release but fuck who wants to play with randoms.

Its funny I never got suspended and the day they did it I had 8.3M on one of my characters with 3M on the retainer. That night I dropped about 5M just incase but it was late and past when other people seemed to have got suspended on our server so I'm not sure exactly why I didn't get suspended. I made mine from being one of the first 50 weavers and controlling the market pretty tight. The HQ 2 star gear with full melds is pretty solid for dps, least ranged. I had like 3 BC pieces that I actually prefered my crafted unless hp pool was a concern.

They need to buff WAR's, just not enough upside at this point. I had like 7300 or something on my 2 box but they still sucked compared to a PAL's cool downs. Not saying there wasn't a few uses for them but for the majority of things a PAL was just superior. If it was up to me i'd change the self heals to be absorb shields that could stack and also do about 2 X as much for inner beast, and 10X as much for storm. Then they would maybe be decent.

Going to go back into retirement I guess at least for the rest of the year. Not really sure what else is out there that is of interest....wildstar had no appeal and the info so far on EQN makes me not even interested. Might finally break away from the MMO genre....only bad thing is single player games have such little appeal anymore after playing MMO's. Disgaea D2 is coming out which is one of the few series I truly enjoy on console so that will keep me busy.
