I dunno. Haven't heard of a single layoff coming out of Firewalk studios yet. Every day they aren't shuttered is another day nobody at the top cares about making profit and only cares about The Message (tm) and expanding to a Modern Audience.
I just want to play a character that doesn't make grunt and moan sounds that'll haunt my dreams every time I jump off a ledge or vault over something.I want to play the cool hero dude or look a gorgeous woman's ass. This game had none of that and it was all in a puke color scheme to boot.
New World taught me a lesson about cosmetics in the last few years, too. If the release versions of armor look "Bad ranging to - ok" at RELEASE, then they'll never, EVER, release an armor that looks bad ass. They'll shoot for it, and at first glance - itll look good. Until you look at it closer, cause its on your fucking character and you'll realize just how awful it is. I hate to be a "woman hater" but who do you think was in control of the armors in New World? The department was/is all women and the one dude there is a junior - lowest on the totem pole

I still have that on my phone , in levels 3500's , never spent a dime on it. It's a time waster if I've already doom scrolled the news and don't have a good enough connection to scroll reddit. Also I'm not a woman nor do I identify as one.

theres a massive fuckup somewhere for sure. There is absolutely some lost in translation. and, a massive lack of coherence overarching design.So, lol. This continues to be interesting for people who have an interest in trainwrecks. And god, I love a trainwreck.

The thing is, these people 100% did their job. It wasn't some unfortunate perfect storm of underskilled workers. You can't look at the same thing happening across all major media products and say it's not a top-down thing. These people made the shitty game that they were told to make. I'm sure they're also shitty, but that's mostly because anyone that wasn't either wouldn't have been hired by these people in the first place or they would have jumped ship at the first possible opportunity. People that are actually good at things always end up trying to make the best of the bad situation that management engineers, but sometimes that mountain is just too high.i doubt its a top down thing, the sony guys just say "make our own version of fortnite" and then go off and do hookers and coke for the next 4 years

The peak character design was hammondOverwatch's design is really impressive. I remember watching some seminar where they explained their pipeline. Each character's silhouette, abilities, and design are iconic. (With some inspiration from TF2.) Most of them even have their home map and some theme music. To me, it's on par with what Capcom did with Street Fighter 2. I don't find the new character created after Remattra very appealing. Mauga is alright, but the character's design and main idea were created prior to their switch to Overwatch 2. Juno is a significant improvement over the previous one.
I think they did switch their team of late. Not sure where I have read it.
On other side. The design of the druid in D4 is really bad IMO.
