I'm 100% pleased with everything in this first episode. The unsullied look different than how I pictured them, but I certainly don't mind their appearance in the show. I loved the little warlock girl and Selmy's introduction. The giant looked awesome and my first thought when it walked on screen was "seeing them fight is going to be badass" (let's just hope we actuallyseethe battle). Mance wasn't quite how I pictured him, but the thing that struck me most about Mance in the books was his confidence and cockiness, and I think this actor can portray both of those in spades.

So happy to have GoT back.

I find it funny that they built up the "king beyond the wall" and then they deliverthatscene.
I expect there will be more. Who knows though they did come up with the whole "my dragon's are missing" storyline that makes me cringe every time I watch that scene.

IP had the HD version up within 5 minutes too, took about half an hour to grab. Pretty sure this show will be abvailable almost instantly all season no matter the source. Which is great.

Man oh man , awesome stuff. So damn mad when it ended , was like NO PLEASE NO...then credits , assholes. Only storyline that irks me is the Fire cunt one , because I am not seeing the big picture with her. Also , i wonder how many of those fucking giants exist...that shit was awesome when it appeared. Was like NO WAY , DRAGONS , GIANTS , UNDEAD , MAGICIANS , why havent i heard of this fucking world prior to the TV Show.
Only the good shows seem like an hour is only 15 minutes. When the screen went to black, my initial thought was that I furious that HBO opened with an episode that only went 15 minutes. Then I looked and saw they went the full hour.

Only Sopranos, The Wire, Mad Men and Breaking Bad give me this same feeling. I sat on the edge of my sofa the whole episode last night.

This was the first episode of Game of Thrones for you?

Same here. One quick question: What happened at Harrenhall? Last I remember, Arya and Gendry were escaping. So where did all these dead northmen come from?

Yeah was kind of confused by that. Bolton and Karstark reaction was curious and wasnt sure what was going on. I have to watch it again.

HBO's Game of Thrones returned to its most-watched episode ever.

Thrones returned to 4.4 million viewers for its premiere at 9 p.m. and racked up 6.7 million viewers for the evening after its two repeats were tallied.

Despite heavy publicity and a rabid fan base, some odds were stacked against the show setting a record: Thrones aired on the Easter holiday, when TV viewership tends to dip, and ran head-to-head for the first time with The Walking Dead during its heavily anticipated finale. Plus, of course, there are some fans paying the iron price for the show. But as I predicted yesterday, Thrones managed a new high.

Thrones 10 p.m. airing was particularly strong for a repeat, likely benefiting from viewers switching to HBO after finishing The Walking Dead. Though HBO has not announced a fourth season on Thrones, you will likely see an official renewal within the next couple weeks.

Also, what a fucking miserable thread this is! As book fans we should be slobbering the knob of D&D for this show, its unreal the amount of quality this show puts on tv. Instead, people complain that they were "only" able to get fucking Julius Caesar for Mance and the Unsullied didn't match their mental image.
I agree. This thread reeks of faggotry this week.

Pretty sure the lannisters had retreated instead of defending it and killed all the POWs instead of dragging them along. Then spread the bodies around the courtyard.

This, except it wasn't the Lannisters. Tywin left the Mountain in charge when he left and this was his doing. Which is why Rob was saying there wont be a siege because the Mountain wont fight. He'll run.

I liked Cersei telling Tyrion that everyone was saying he'd lost his nose, but it's not as bad as all that. A little nod to the book readers

makes sense. Yeah, was wondering if anybody caught that. The scene was so quick you have to infer most everything in it, especially on your first viewing.

I'm about three-quarters done with A Clash. Lots of deviation between print and screen, gotta say. Not that that's a bad thing; just sayin. can't wait to catch up with it all. but mostly CAN'T WAIT FOR SUNDAY

I thought they just started to appear since they were gone for thousands of years , wonder if they will ever explain how one becomes a walker. As in , do you need to be killed by one of their weapons as when the show started it looked like the dude at that end of last season was doing the killing with his ice weapon or whatever it was in the very 1st episode of the show. I want to read the history of that dude , but afraid it will spoil more then i want to know.
I would doubt they need to be killed with those weapons as when Qhorin Halfhand was killed by Jon they burned him and said "You don't want that one coming back for you." I assume there is more at work here that we don't know about yet.

in other words, the Mountain That Rides is more like the Mountain with Sand in His Vagina

and jozu, i'm curious about what you heard that'd make GRRM a troll... but fuck it, i don't wanna know.

Yeah Rob says "The Lannisters have been on the run from us since Oxcross. The men would love a fight, but I don't think we're going to get one." So it sounds like he expected the Mountain joined the rest of the Lannister forces in retreat before the Northern army arrived.

All the slaughtered Northern prisoners being left behind were obviously a grim surprise, though.

With demonoid gone can someone toss me an invite to whatever its equivilant replacement is...
I've been using eztv.it for all my TV shows for the last few years, it has never really had a problem (very occasionally it's been down for a bit, but never for very long, maybe a day at most).
