I expect there will be more. Who knows though they did come up with the whole "my dragon's are missing" storyline that makes me cringe every time I watch that scene.
I laughed when they picked 'WHERE ARE MY DRAGONS !' for the Daenerys quote on 'previously on' at the start heh.

I liked Cersei telling Tyrion that everyone was saying he'd lost his nose, but it's not as bad as all that. A little nod to the book readers
Except in the books it's Tyrion saying he lost his nose, where as in the show it's obvious it was a HUGE scar across his face... a wee bit difference.

Anyways, we only saw Mance for a minute and a half maybe up to 3, it's hard to say whether or not he'll portray Mance correctly. All I know is(as others have posted), I expected Mance to be skinnier and better looking.

Well in the books he DID lose his nose. The fact that he just has a scar in the show and not a horribly disfigured half-nose is most likely due to prioritizing production costs. So I thought it was a funny little nod to the readers that 'yes we know he's supposed to be much more maimed, but wouldn't you rather see that money spent on dragons?'

Also the fact that no one wants to look at a noseless Dinklage for the next how ever many seasons this shit goes.

I saw the Bolton cross in the preview, but my assumption was that it was taking place at Winterfell. I could be wrong, but i don't remember Ramsay ever returning to the Dreadfort with Theon. I thought he just holed up in Winterfell and started having the dogs rape Jeyne Poole.
No, no and no.

Also, what a fucking miserable thread this is! As book fans we should be slobbering the knob of D&D for this show, its unreal the amount of quality this show puts on tv. Instead, people complain that they were "only" able to get fucking Julius Caesar for Mance and the Unsullied didn't match their mental image.

The Tywin/Tyrion scene was incredible, probably better than the book actually (and it was one of my favorite scenes of the book). It is basically the scene in my memory, but done with Dance and Dinklage. Also Joffrey was fucking great, looking like a petulant child as Margaery actually does queenly things. Really hits home how poor a job Cersei has done raising him. As for the Unsullied and Daenerys, I thought they did a great job. At no point did I wish the Unsullied looked like the men in 300 lol. What book were you guys reading? You know they are eunuchs right?
Aint that the truth.

Bunch of asperger's nerds who have been given the greatest quality of D&D jackoff material since the LOTR trilogy a decade ago are complaining about every minor minutiae and then defending it by saying that if they didnt have anything to bitch about, then they'd have nothing to talk about.

Well is this really surprising? Not that I'm attacking or defending either side but when my group of friends role played the fuckers enjoyed rules lawyering far fucking more then actually role playing. FREE ACTION

As a non book reader the only thing that actually bothered me about the episode is how the ex-kingsguard who saved princess dragons from the scorpion is "one of the greatest swordsmen in all the realms". It's like fucking everyone in the story is "one of the greatest whatevers of all the realms" unless they're a politician.

And it's not even specifically that, it's a general trend of superfluous exposition which that one line just stabbed me in the face with. It's getting to a point in the story where there needs to be a lot less of that. This thing could easily meander itself into cancellation -- which would be a shame because it IS some of the highest visual quality D&D jackoff material since LOTR.

Like Sansha on the docks. WTF was that scene there for, even. They could have just put her in the background of a different scene where something interesting happened which served to progress one of the many many stories if all they wanted to do was remind us that she's still alive with all her skin/appendages intact. I really don't think the viewing audience forgot that Littlefinger is duplicitous, and I really don't think the viewing audience would scream PLOT HOLE if she heard rumors that her sister is alive offscreen.

Iannis, please name another character that has been described as the greatest swordsman of all time in the same way Barristan is.

It's a pretty stupid complaint first off like most of the other complaints in this thread and I'm not sure if on the show anyone has said he is one of the greatest or just very skilled

Jaime for one. You only asked for one. There are probably two or three others. I don't commit this shit to memory -- but the Mountain for another. When everyone is the best scary badass ever who can bother to even give a fuck anymore.

Smuggling Sansa out had already been established, and that scene didn't further that plot any. I -don't- commit this shit to memory, and I remember that from last season. That scene served 3 purposes: to remind us Sansha is alive and Geoff hasn't gone all King Henry on her ass, to remind us through his whore-secretary that littlefinger is duplicitous, and to show us Sansha directly receiving rumors that her sister is alive (which I think she already had heard). All of which were superfluous.

That scene was there because Sansha and Shae are pretty and under contract.

I did really enjoy Tywin laying the shit down on Tyrion. For a non-reader that scene was crucial. The show needs more of those types of scenes, and less of the "lets talk about where the boats are going" scenes.

Except Jaime himself said Barristan was the best swordsmen he's ever seen. He was like a painter, who only painted in red.

Seriously, the people hating on this particular episode are reaching. Almost all the plots were moved forward (which was a big complaint about season 2) and the script/CGI/acting was all top notch. Hour went by so fast, which I normally don't say. Thought it was only 35-40 minutes in when the credits rolled.

Wasnt Jaime a teenager when he said that? When he squired for him at the age of 16?

In the show has anyone said Jaime, hound, or mountain were one of the greatest swordsman?

We've all read all the books and they have been discussed to death. People have nothing left to do but complain and nitpick about every little detail in the TV show. It amuses me that some of your are surprised that this is what we are talking about.

it's either that or continue to speculate that Martin will die before he finishes the series.
