Pretty easy to over-cumin something, since like 1/3rd a teaspoon is enough for any single serving of something in most cases. Do you dust or measure?

Anyone make their own potato chips? We normally end up getting a shitload of potatoes every year and end up having to throw some away. I want to start making some stuff that we'll actually eat with them.

I'm thinking I'll need a mandolin to make sure the slices are the same thickness, and either to try baking them with spices or salts, or maybe trying to fry them.

if you have a mandolin already, you might want to consider this
Amazon.com: Paderno World Cuisine A4982799 Tri-Blade Plastic Spiral Vegetable Slicer: Kitchen Dining

it's not bad for decorations, (guests like it, wtf can i say) i find the smallest insert really bad for fries, unless you like the pomm frites, the flat continuous is nice.

If you prefer or need a mandoline i'd recommend this OXO one
Amazon.com: OXO Good Grips V-Blade Mandoline Slicer: Kitchen Dining

i've stopped using mine since i prefer to just knife everything, but it made nice slices, i really liked the big ass sticky feet so this shit didn't slip no where, it's nice and bulky and didn't feel flimsy like the others i saw at BBB.
