Yes, I've been confronted by random strangers with guns. Probably more times than you have. The problem in those cases was not guns, it was the fact that American Inventors had guns. Just like our high gun-related murder rate is basically nothing but American Inventors killing each other. Let me know what Canada's rate of gun violence looks like when you have more than two black people in the entire country.

That is pretty much my case in point that your Bill of Rights and Constitution are more like guidelines than a hardline code of conduct. You do know what amendment means right?

If there's any problem, it's our inability to sufficiently treat people with psychiatric disease. Guns don't corrupt people into being murderous psychopaths. People are horrible murderous psychopaths, and use guns as their tools. I'm all for supporting some sort of legislation to help identify mental illness quicker, and to fund more long-term inpatient psychiatric treatment facilities - they are actually incredibly quite rare these days.

As far as I'm aware, there is no proof violence in fictional mediums produce more violence in people. In fact, both Harvard Medical School studies showed that there is no link at all.

lol, Gavi did go full retard. But I love Canandians that try to compare yourselves with our diversity, because you have one or two cities with some differing populations in them. If you roll up every non-white person in Canada (Asian, Black--all of them) you end up with about the same % of population as just our African American Population. It's not even comparable, not even a little bit. Canada is very homogenous compared to the U.S., and that's without including hispanics as non-white, which if we do, we find that about 30-32% of the U.S. population is non white, compared to between 12-14% in Canada.

I don't think that means anything, personally. I think violence is more a factor of economics, and our more limited social aid causes more violence. But your statement about Toronto is as silly as saying you have a black friend, so you know what you're talking about eh? heh, Racial diversity intersects every facet of U.S. life, because whites here actually won't be a majority in a few decades. That's not going to happen anytime soon in Canada, friend. Your statement, ironically, was nearly as bad as someone thinking you all lived in Igloo's and ate maple SAUCE!

Bro, I value the ability to defend myself if necessary. A weapon that is two feet from me when I sleep, 20 feet from me when I'm idling at home and behind closed, locked doors otherwise is secure. The only way someone is going to acquire my weapon is the same way they would acquire it if it were in a safe: by breaking into my home and looking for it. A safe is an extra layer of security, sure, but calling me irresponsible for having a weapon in a drawer behind closed, locked doors is grasping for straws. Don't be retarded.

I'm not paranoid that some armed robber is going to break into my house and shoot me because statistically I'm more likely to win the damn lottery. You know where I had the gun pulled on me? The poorest neighbourhood in all of Canada in a city. And the area is cleaning up with different approaches to handling poor, mentally unstable homeless drug addicts.
