So, I found out during the "break" I took from the game between September and December, the guys behind the HearthArena website had a falling out. I was wondering where their silly faces went. Anyway, I don't really care about the drama behind this, but I do care about a couple things I use the website for:

Game tracking. I keep telling myself I'll use results to improve. Don't know if it really helps. But it is interesting that I win 68% of my games going first, but only 57% going second.

Drafting. My average since returning, including a couple stinker warrior runs, is 5.5. I don't really see the website's picking algorithm being useful once the next expansions debuts. I'd like to say I'm good enough to draft on my own, but help never hurts. And obviously I have more room to improve.

Anyone have tools for tracking drafts, decks, and/or runs in arena?

There's no shame in using Heartharena when you are stumped. I am beyond infinite and my average is ~8ish wins over the course of the last 18 months and I still use it for around 6-7 picks per draft. Really, I shouldn't need to though for how much I draft, because I should have the values memorized, but my memory in that area just sucks I guess. I mostly use it because I am indecisive when I have 3 mediocre cards early in a draft. Because I don't rely on it later in a draft when the values aren't as relevant. I will often pick something with a lower value because it fits my deck better (and there are some things I disagree on, such as Antique Healbot, which I believe should be valued a lot higher than 44). But yeah, why wouldn't you use all the tools available to you to be as good as you can be? Nothing to be ashamed of. Doesn't really make you less of a drafter. Anyone can follow Heartharena, not everyone can average 5.5+

If you look at that spreadsheet you need to compare apples to apples and not just look at the numbers at the top.
Firstly, it's only showing Arena runs that have been streamed. Many streamers will have bad runs because they let viewers draft for them or they pick a variety of classes to keep it interesting.
Secondly, there is a breakdown by class and if you exclude all the classes you avoid then you're looking at 8+ win average by this spreadsheet.
I don't know if you're claiming to be the absolute best but it sounds like you are with this statement:

Until you show proof of your games beyond just text, it'll be hard to believe that your averages are so much higher than the 8+ shown.
Oh and if you look at LOE only then it's closer to 9 win average for the best streamers.
Your reading comprehension is low today Fawe. That was my point, i.e. "I find it hard to believe that their average win count isn't higher, because mine sure is" -- aka those numbers clearly don't represent their real averages/skill level. Because my average is 8.1 over the course of 18+ months, and I would find it redonkulas that that would make me better than the best arena streamers. So yeah, duh? That's obviously what I was saying. I do think unequivocally that I am top 50 in the world for sure if the top arena streamers represent the top of the pyramid (as well as some other general stats released by Blizzard), and I pray to god they release the stats one day so I can find out.

Because I'm a glutton for punishment...

Your words I quoted imply the averages are low. Spin it however you want now, but all you had to do was admit you didn't understand the spreadsheet, or didn't scroll down. No need to make excuses for anything.

You're also not a streamer. Streamers get stream sniped. This has an impact on their average. Lots of variables that apply to them that don't apply to any of us (and I include myself in that statement even though I stream, because I'm not famous enough to get sniped).

What do you guys think is the correct way to go if the next expansion pack is card packs? Spend all you gold on classic packs and dust them, or save the gold and buy packs when the expansion comes out?

Definitely. And like Fawe said, they have the chat draft for them, or they pick shite classes as per vote, etc. Which I totally understand. That was my point really, that surely they are better than 6-7 average.

Depends on what you need, but obviously if you mostly only need the new expansion, buy packs. If we get full dust value for a ton of cards, that might change things. But I'd save up gold/dust until the expansion drops.

If you want cards from the new expansion, buy packs from the new expansion. The only way buying classic packs would be worth it is if something like 75% of the classic set was offering full dust value.

Definitely save the gold, you can always buy classic packs after it launches if you decide.

I still have barely any TGT cards, but I'd rather save my gold for the new expansion packs because even with the other expansions gone I still think most TGT cards will be as terrible to use as they are now.

Control warrior doing work for me the past couple days. Got me into the single digit ranks from 14 with only 3 losses. Seeing lots of freeze mages and zoolocks. Tech in a couple Revenges for the secret pallies.

Ya. Small sample size of course, but the three or four games so far they get me pretty low until I stabilize with Justicar/Shield Maidens/Belchers and they just can't keep a board. One game the guy went all in with a Malganis and PO and got me down to one health but I ended up grinding him down and finished with one health and 14 armor, lol.

I never thought Zoo was that bad for Control Warrior. Paladins suck dick for it though, and Druids are pretty ass. Which means Control Warrior will get good again with Standard lol. Even if you lose Death's Bite

Warriors will just go back to using Gorehowl would be my guess. It's a lot more expensive but it's really strong with enough armor to keep clearing minions turn after turn.

With so many deathrattle minions cycling out, gorehowl will be really good again. Zoo isn't terrible, just a bad matchup. I'd say it's between 55/45 and 60/40 in favor of Zoo. Really depends on you drawing two weapons early and them not getting a really good set up for Argus. Brawl is going to be much stronger in standard.
