  • Guest, it's time once again for the massively important and exciting FoH Asshat Tournament!

Go here and give us your nominations!
Who's been the biggest Asshat in the last year? Give us your worst ones!
its a dead card in any arena draft now, CoC shares the same mana as Polymorph/Fireball/Water Elemental and who is going to pick that over those three
or Frost Nova over any of the secrets/secret minions for that matter

It is weird to me that they aren't listening to any of the advice from the top players... like balancing arena via rarity is a fantastic idea for certain annoying cards that are fine in high level constructed, but if you get a deck full of them in arena it just sucks. But they just passed up that idea completely.

Tried a Shaman deck with Ancestral Healing+Injured Blademasters. It did.... all right. Not bad, not great. The issue being of course that I've now sunk two cards into the idea, so if it gets Hexed/Poly-ed/Tinked etc., it puts me pretty far behind. Also without heals (though I was running two Far Seers) Shaman just lose to Mage. They can keep the board clear enough that none of your agro tricks work and you can't play delay because no healing.

Really want to hit Legendary this month, but man, the grind is horrible.

Alextraza + Gorehowl + Charge on Alex is a mighty fine killer combo I must say

you basically survive and draw cards until you can play that combo

I'm really fucking getting tired of Pyro in the arena. So annoyed that they haven't changed it. So lame. 9-3 with this godly Rogue deck with a Ragnoros. 3 losses to Pyro mages. I swear to god every single Mage I play in Arena has a Pyro.

At the low, low price of almost 10,000 dust! Does seem fun though.

Druids don't need all those legendaries though. I guess it's a playstyle and fun if you have em, but I've ranked up super quickly on my Druid with only Ysera and Leeroy (he works pretty well with moonfire/taunts). I rarely, rarely lose and usually just plow through opponents with a 13-15 card advantage.

Built a deck around the "nothing over 4 mana" idea. Went from rank 13 to rank 8 with zero losses.
I'm playing something similar right now but top out at 5 mana and having really good results too getting into rank 9. Warlock aggro is extremely strong right now and it's constant pressure on the opponent.

Actually it does have 3 cards over 4 cost, a doomguard and 2 argent commanders, he posted it over on tl. Doomguard is very good in those warlock aggro decks because you're normally low on cards in hand so you may be able to discard 0 cards or usually only 1.

Prefer aggro rush over freeze control, aggro rush they have to fight for board control still, there are a number of ways you can slow them down. Freeze control your options are very limited.

And I don't think aggro/rush type decks will be as prevalent as they once were before because people are catching on taunt and healing isn't so bad. The reason rush decks rose to the top of the past meta is both taunt and healing cards were considered bad cards.

Mind posting his specific deck if you know it? I know that aggro rush Warlock decks all rely on the same core cards but curious to see how he's tweaked it.

So it is basically the ek0p warlock deck?

No, different Warlock.

Surprised that Warrior deck isn't running the ridiculous draw engine of Pyromancer+Acolyte+Commanding Shout+Battle Rage (which results in 2 pings on the Acolyte and 3 cards from Battle Rage for a minimum of 5 cards drawn).

Pretty much what I thought. Leeroy works really well in the Warlock rush deck as a finisher. Abusive Sergeant is actually a good call. It's a terrible first turn one drop but combos really well.

Most warlock rush decks run the same 24ish cards and just tweak around the margins. For example, I don't have Leeroy so I use Sylvanas instead. Pros and cons there. I don't use the engineers or sergeant either.

Here's what mine looks like right now:

2x Soulfire
1x Power Overwhelming
2x Argent Squire
2x Blood Imp
1x Elven Archer
2x Flame Imp
2x Leper Gnome
2x Void Walker
2x Demonfire
2x Knife Juggler
2x Harvest Golems
2x Shattered Sun Cleric
2x Dark Iron Dwarves
2x Defender of Argus
1x Doomguard
1x Sylvanas
2x Argent Commander

Not ashamed to admit that I netdecked the core awhile back but I've been tweaking it here and there ever since.

My problem is I'm fluctuating between Rank 9 and 10 and 4 out of 5 decks are Warlock rush. On one hand, games are over VERY fast win or lose. On the other hand, I feel like a coin flip to determine the winner and loser would have similar results. It's all about opening hand and draws at that point.

And all those people you played against were saying the same thing about your Ragnaros.

I do agree about Pyro tho. I played an arena yesterday with it and it just feels shitty to use.

The ability to pull legendaries from a draft and play against people that didn't really sucks. That was one of the worst things about Magic drafts, playing against someones unbeatable bomb and it sucks in this game too.

I imagine a lot of people hitting legendary are doing it with Warlock. Because strong deck and also fast games. Makes the grind faster when you're eeking your way up there are like a 60-70%% win rate. Plus bonus stars from streaks stop at rank 5.

Differences from from his are no Doomguard, no AC, no engineers, only one Argus. In place of those six cards he has 2x Mortal Coil, 2x Young Priestess, 1x Elven Archer, and a second Abusive Sergeant.

Just got a golden Tyrion!
I think I'd rather get a shitty golden legendary than Tyrion, cause at least it's an easy choice to disenchant it then, disenchanting Tyrion is rough since it's like the best class legendary.

Oh for people who didn't see it on stream/reddit yesterday:

Considering I am 10 cards (not counting Blizzard/Cone of Cold because I figured I'd get them pack in packs and am not playing Mage till I hit 60 on everything else) from a complete set, disenchanting it isn't high on my priority list. I did disenchant the non-golden version I already had.
