Rolled my eyes right out of my head at the Hurt cover, but overall it doesn't really look bad? Actually has a chance to be decent, but I'm still pretty salty about Apocalypse.

What is this from?
Warren Ellis took over Astonishing after Joss left, and he wrote 4 short stories with ghost boxes, the story I like the most is a self reflecting Scott.

It looks like they are combining elements of "the end" series to this to fill in what they didn't have rights to with old man Logan. I'm willing to bet that Xavier is already dead before this movie starts and it's just some shunted personality that Xavier imprinted into logan.

Honestly the only thing I am not loving about this is that its not set far enough in the future for me to buy into a mutant extinction and Logan being old and broken.

Hopefully they nailed this. Jackman has been a perfect Wolverine squandered by a bunch of shit movies. Outside of Deadpool/Reynolds I dont think is is a more perfect comic book character/actor combo.

old prof X and Magneto are about perfect castings too. Jackman wasn't a perfect wolverine, but he became one. the time setting has me a bit worried too. old man was post apoctaliptic, and some parts were a bit corny to make into a movie (hulk kids, bursting out of hulks gut). time to reread it again, old man logan and ultimate hulk vs. wolverine are teh 2 comics i reread about once a year

What was the resolution to ultimate hulk vs wolverine? I checked out after it took 2 years to finish

you'll be shocked to learn that everyone came out alive at the end.

I agree. I love Jackman as Wolverine, but for fuck's sake, can they make ONE decent Wolverine movie? It doesn't seem like it would be that hard to do, yet every single one of them has been shit.

I didn't enjoy either of the standalone wolverine movies in spite of Hugh Jackman, i think he did a good job being Wolverine even he wasn't what i initially expected. That being said, for some reason i find myself really excited about this movie. It's probably because of Johnny Cash in the trailer though......

I was including all the terrible X-men movies as well (X-Men 2 was pretty good, the rest were horrible).
Yea, he's got a point, Xmen movies really is shit w/o Wolverine, b/c he's basically the POV character

I don't actually think the series needs a viewpoint character anymore. Since it is ubiquitous in the culture now. It just needs to stop being destruction porn and tell an actual story.

You just described the problem every recent comic movie outside of the MCU has had, ESPECIALLY the Snyder flicks

Oh, come on.

X1, X2, First Class, and DoFP were all decent to good. The second Wolverine movie was surprisingly good (the director's cut at least, I never saw the regular version). I am still waiting for Apocalypse to come to Netflix or something. I don't feel like paying for that one.

Yeah no shit!

However a ton of comic stories lack. Nuance. So its difficult to build nuance into the adaptations. And the stuff that's hyper nuanced can't be adapted into anything comprehensible ( aka Morrison and Snyder Batman comics)

Most of it is either too ingrained into the comics culture or too dumb to be poetic. So we get reboots. Because film is too expensive to build the past on. But Marvel sure is trying.

Watchmen had the nuance in the movie. The intro song is the best thing Snyder ever did. But then we had to have Malin Ackerman ruin the movie with her acting.
