Just watched this. You don't get to see too many movies where the protagonist just shoots people over and over without trying to get all fancy in the pantsy with kung fu and shit. Loved watching him just tap people in the head over and over to make sure they were dead. A+ would watch again.

Saw this finally. Really enjoyed it. It's pretty rare the worst thing I can say about a shoot-em-up is I'm not sure why they keep calling him 'Jonathan' when his name is spelled 'John' because it makes no sense. I really liked the fact that pretty much all the fights seem centered around survival/killing as opposed to wacky-fu.
Do agree with others about him 'missing' the kid in the scene from the hot-tub thing in the club. The rest of the movie he's just obscenely accurate. I would figure they could have used a different plot element other than him missing a lot randomly.

That makes sense with the spider webbing, but production value wise when watching the scene I just thought he missed.

As much as I liked the first one, I worry about sequels like this. Taken is probably the most recent example of a simple concept and awesome movie that gets dragged down into a shitty franchise because they A) have to over-complicate things to justify a sequel and B) are too afraid to change any major story elements so they phone the entire movie in.

Well this is same writers and directors and a world already established, Taken franchise was just the studio milking and new directors every film.
Megatron is the genius director behind shit like Transporter 3, no wonder the taken sequels were awful
Morel directed Taken 1 then left to Direct From Paris With Love which was a very underrated movie
