I had the first movie super spoiled for me and never bothered watching it either. I thought maybe this gaga movie would get me to watch it, but it looks really shitty. Then I find out Todd whatshisname only made this movie to fool fans into watching a different movie which just has the joker name attached.
The ending kind of makes sense. However...
The guy who presumably kills him, is not built up at all. Has 0 lines before their conversation at the end, you just get a sense he's obsessed with Joker (from a handful of camera shots)
They did not build up/show Joker's public support at all, beyond Gaga saying people love you out there
Worst thing about the film - they had like 10 fucking musicals, half of which were shite, like when they tried escaping from the prison. Should have cut it down to like 4-5.
Gaga was pretty mid.
Pretty mid movie, outside of Joaquin Phoenix and the cinematography. 6/10

It's a slow burn character study about someone going criminally insane. There's no 'gotcha' moment to spoil. It's not like snape kills doubledoor or lyloe ren kills hand solo.
