the korean hdtv rip is very good quality, nearly blu ray I'd say. decent audio, its only 2 channel so no 7.1 dts or anything but no probs understanding the actors. Glad I saw it at home, every moment the dinos were on screen was awesome, every second with just humans was just awful. Glad I watched.

Is there a good explanation on how this is one of the highest grossing movies of all time? Titanic at least had impressive visuals and Cameron

This wasn't that much worse than the first one. The trained raptor shit was bad but the rest was fine. The real issue is that the original was first, it broke ground, looked amazing for the time, and has aged really well. But it had its fair share of stupid stuff too, just a bit less than JP4.

JP4 was tons better than Age of Extinction and that movie made a fuckload.

Coincidentally, Age of Extinction came out in the summer, has dinosaurs, and people are stupid.

because it met all the summer blockbuster requirements+chris pratt and nostalgia from the first one.

Yeah I didn't mind the trained raptor thing because it reminds me of animal handlers who raise lions/cheetahs and shit and they are aggresive towards others but not towards the human who raised them. If you get in from a young age they look at you as one of their own/mother.

I enjoyed this movie. I paid to see dinosaurs smash things up and run wild on an island. I was not disappointed.

The raptor 'issue' did not bother me. If they are anywhere near as intelligent as the movies claim they are, training them would not be impossible.

Just a few small quips:
1) I did not like how the Indominus Rex was able to communicate with the Raptors. If it was raised in relative isolation, even if it was the same species, it should not be able to 'assert dominance' of the pack. I mean, the Tyrannosaurus Rex never did that and it is quite big.
2) Did none of the other animals in the park have the electrical chips in their necks? Only the Indominus?

I plan to buy it on DVD/BLU when it comes out, so it can hang out with the rest of myJurassicPark collection.

I think its explained because it has Raptor DNA, so its basically a big Raptor.

i think he knows that, his point was that where did the I-Rex learn how to talk raptorese if he was isolated all his life? he assumes that raptors have some kind of learned language over instinctual noises to communicate with one another.

I just kind of realized that "Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs 2" is a better "JurassicPark" movie than 3 or 4

Obviously consistent with the shitty JP3 lore where Sam Neill is able to communicate with the raptors using his raptor voice box contraption.

I honestly thought this moment in the new movie was hilarious because it took the most absurd part of JP3 and incorporated it somehow and it's there for maybe 5 seconds then we're back to the action. I really hate myself for how much I enjoyed the new one.

It really isn't surprising it made a ton of money. Most of the kids who grew up with the original have their own families now. Combine that with both adults and kids loving dinosaurs and a popular actor with special effects and you have a recipe for a hit. LOL at the people wanting to act like the original was some sort of Citizen Kane or something. They are both just fun movies that adults and kids can enjoy together.

The only difference being the first movie didn't fucking suck.

Watched 1 for the first time in a long time last night. This joke doesn't hold a candle to it.
