Carnotaurus is encountered in The Lost World. They have near perfect chameleon-like camouflage, able to replicate even patterns and shadows on their skin.
She hid under the jeep/truck while dinos lurked outside... wasn't that brief scene straight out of the book? or was that in the 3rd movie from the 2nd book.. like the intro to the 2nd movie was the intro to the 1st book with the fam chilling on the island beach getting eaten by little dinos. That was one of my favorite books...the movie had nothing in common with it. Tempted to take it off my shelf and see how it holds up.
Yes, that was vaguely what happened in the prologue of the first book, little girl got mauled by escaped compys or somethingShe hid under the jeep/truck while dinos lurked outside... wasn't that brief scene straight out of the book? or was that in the 3rd movie from the 2nd book.. like the intro to the 2nd movie was the intro to the 1st book with the fam chilling on the island beach getting eaten by little dinos.
Yeah, if I remember the book they really do not explain or explore much of why those little dinoes where out and about- I just assumed that they landed on a part of the island that was naturally "beyond" the containment zone- and that they didn't consider this little dino dangerous or aggressive - but yeah rich fam sets down on random beach, girl wonders off sees cool little animal and it attacks her. But its been years since I have read the book or seen JP 2,3 movies.Yes, that was vaguely what happened in the prologue of the first book, little girl got mauled by escaped compys or something
*edit*
iirc she survives and draws a picture of it, and the guy who sees it thinks it's impossible because he somehow knows enough about lizards and dinosaurs to know that no three toed lizard has walked upright in millions of years, and they fax him the skeleton but he assumes it was a mistake or something? So there was a big chance to discover the dinosaurs were on the loose before the events at the park but it didn't happen.
