To be fair, I don't think player skill is that far off between regions, I think most of it has to do with the teamwork and communication the Asian teams have that really out shines NA and EU teams.

As the weather has turned I've been playing a great deal more ranked and I'm really seeing now how frustrating the system can be. I had been mucking around and lost a mess of games down to Gold 1 0 LP and a few losses after that and slowly have been grinding my way back up at around 5 LP per win. The losses were more but not a ton more. I got to +80 and went into a skid and four losses have knocked me back down to 40. That's 12 wins worth of LP to qualify for a series. I'm accustomed to huge points both directions because that's mostly what I saw when I played this season. On my primary account I would get +24 all the time.

If this wasn't the irrelevant preseason and I was actually working to get Platinum having stagnated as much as I have with 5 points for a win and as many as 13 for a loss I don't think I could stick with it. I failed fucking 8 promotional series before I got to Plat but it wasn't so bad because of the amount of points gained for wins. This 5 points a win shit is for the goddamnbirds. It doesn't really matter and I'm having a good time playing with the vast majority of the games in the past few weeks being entertaining but I'm really coming to hate the League system rather than just not care about it.

He is an unusual champ, I have only played 2 games with him myself with the first one being force mid (which I did terrible) and the 2nd one being able to go top. I shit on wukong top but the team wasn't doing so great. I am still unsure where he falls but it certainly seems he is going to be one of those hard to master champs. I know the 2nd match I used his dash and mobility much more and it helped out a ton more. The most fun thing I have done so far with him is setup a wind wall between 2 champs (1v2) and dashing from one to other as I kill them and having half of their stuff blocked.

I did better with him in a 3rd game where I went even against lissandra. I do decide well that game but it turned out that after th laning phase it was 4v5.

I've been playing him safe. I need to poke with him better.

I think building early crit might be a noob trap because imo, he needs to get an early vamp scepter for sustain and he is pretty squishy without some early hp. I am leaning towards Trinityforce + IE + BotRK as Yasuo's core build. But I think getting double dorans unto shiv IE could work too. I just think that TF's move speed, phage boost, and the ability to spam sheen procs all jive with his kit too well to pass up. I started trying 3-4 crit chance marks to give some decent early crit so I can get a vamp scepter and ruby crystal earlier in the game to help stay in lane.

I only have a few games with him, but it seems to me that he is very strong levels 1-3 and then falls off mid game until you can complete one of the core items. He is a beast late game and excels at team fight clean up since he can use E to chase people down. But I think Draegan is right about being more aggressive in lane; just like with malphite, force trades when you have your passive shield up.

I don't own him, but the only Yasuo's I see that do well are the ones that get IE + Shiv asap. Thinking if you need the sustain start long sword + 3pot and grab vamp scepter asap then start towards that IE. Although without owning him I don't know how his sustain really is and how good his shield is. Is dshield + pot or dblade + pot and saving up to BF sword / IE not viable for him?

I actually won lane vs a Tryndamere with him last night, I went Shiv-->IE-->LW. I played fairly passive, but would poke whenever I could, and I waited for Tryn to use spinning slash toward me before fighting since then I had mobility advantage. I would try to have my 3rd Q ready to knockup Tryn whenever he engaged. I would burst him down much faster than he could burst me and I would Dash to minions to kite out his ultimate. In the end my team lost the game since enemy Mid and ADC had 21 kills a piece. enemy Tryn went like 9-11-9 and I went 10-14-9. Majority of my deaths were from enemy mid laner, Annie. She would burst me down in team fights before I could even do anything. My team wouldn't focus objectives so we lose.

He def need phage / sheen / scepter and zerks mid game. Most his early damge is stacking his dash into double q.
I disagree with the build as of now, but I still need to play more. I started off with LS quints and didn't really notice a difference when I went AD instead. I think you should also start him off with a Doran's shield. Right now I have AD quints, 6 x AD marks, 3 x crit marks, Armor and MR yellows and blues. I also run 17/13/0 masteries so I get the 1 point in Perseverance. Not sold on the Mastery build yet. I might go even more defense.

So I start Shield into Avarice Blade. From there I determine my path. If I don't have to rush a defensive item, then I go Shiv -> Banshee vs AP or Omen vs AD -> IE. Then I toss Merc treads in there. From there I build the tanky item I didn't build and then a Frozen Mallet to finish. I haven't really gotten a chance to play a full build game yet though.

Though TF + BORK might be an interesting test, but that might be more of a mid lane build.

I'm also experimenting on leveling his abilities. Start the game with Q E W then level E then W then Q. His W passively gives flow to his dash. Each dash gives 20% flow at max W that doesn't include distance traveled. Max E allows you to double dash a target after 6 seconds vs. 10 plus the CD is .1 seconds at max rank allowing instant spam. Again this is more of a bruiser build.

It's a shame movement speed doesn't effect dash speed.

The amount of confusion that results when people charge at me to last hit or attempt to trade and I dash through them instead and start putting out tons of damage with Yasuo is pure hilarity. A lot of times I will dash around the minions a couple of times and I am sure they are just like WTF since they don't understand. I have been doing Shiv>IE personally with my zed/khaz or riven runes which are armpen/ad.

TF + BOTRK is always the same problem on a physical carry. It just doesn't SCALE well into late game. If you have TF, BOTRK, LW, that leave you one slot for either IE or Shiv, one slot for boots, one slot for a defensive item. IE and Shiv (or PD) scale so well on Yasuo it's pretty retarded not to take them both on him. LW is mandatory if they have more than 1 fatty or even bruiser/tanky AP on their team. As a teamfight-oriented, sustained damage-type you NEED defense as well unless their team is full derp or you have a shitton of CC and fat on your side to stand behind.

The reason you can get TF and BOTRK on some bruisers is they don't rely on scaling to up their damage. Just those extra procs and stats make them scary on top of their tankiness and base stats. When you have a character you buy multiplicative stats on (IAS, Crit chance) you are hurting yourself with those low-damage items.

You could try tank-Yasuo with TF, BOTRK, defense, defense, but I'm not convinced that he's enough of a threat with his base stats + gimmick items to be scary. You're better off just doing Shyv, Vi, Udyr, Trundle, Jax, etc. Someone who is actually disruptive and a threat with just those two low-AD items + defense.

Trinity is cute on him for sheen procs, but it just can't match the raw power of IE. It's really not a choice imo.

I haven't played with him enough to say for sure, but I would say it's an either/or kind of thing with that and BOTRK, much like I was arguing for Lucian. Trinity does add a ton of useful stats and if they're team is NOT full of fatties, then I would probably go Trinity over BOTRK. Although if you do Trinity + Shiv + IE you are wasting crit chance technically which is dumb but really, Trinity is all about the wasted stats~
