The entitlement comes because you can easily spectate the game and enjoy the experience. You see pros playing the same game and you begin to think you can do the same thing. Overall, the game isn't that difficult to play mechanically. It's not like you're watching someone play Street Fighter and going holy fuck I can't pull off that combo. But the game has 4 buttons and a mouse and those buttons have cooldowns. So players get a sense that the game is easy and they could do the same thing.

Of course that's not the case at all, but I think that is what is happening. Typically players didn't sit around and watch "pro" WOW guilds raid because that is boring as shit. But people watch streams and youtube videos of games all the time.
Shrug, maybe it's just me having the wrong idea of ranked but my sense of entitlement is more a sense of I feel like I belong in a ladder with people of a similar skill level where I can get teams of a similar skill level and have decent games instead of the shitfests that I get a lot of the times. If that doesn't ever go away in solo queue, or at least fall off to be the rarity that some people are making it out to be,

Two days ago I played 5 or 6 games. 4 of those games I had a leaver on my team along with all the chat rage/etc. Ended up back in bronze 4 after that run.

I just got promoted back to bronze 3 and my very next game gets me a duo who get first pick + last pick, take support and jungle. Annie jungle... Nidalee fed the hell out of cait/blitz bot and clearly had no clue how to play the game in general from what I saw in teamfights etc. Like, I don't even understand how the person was 30 to get in to ranked games to begin with. The annie jungle that was a duo with her was pretty terrible too. Our gangplank and vayne didn't do too bad considering vayne had nidalee as her support and I was winning mid pretty well vs kat (not crushing her but winning). The game ended at about 23 minutes, I believe, with the duo combining for 2/21/4 and literally posing 0 threat to the enemy team for the last 10 of those 23 minutes, making it a 3v5 for all intents and purposes and we couldn't even attempt to turtle and hold out til late-game, they just steamrolled our whole base.

Is that a side-effect of me not having 17 pages of runes or because I didn't buy enough wards or because I am just horrible at this game and belong in cardboard 7? Like I said before tho, maybe i'm just expecting a decent ranked system that allows me to play competitive games that are actually competitive instead of normals with a pick order.

Some games are unwinnable. That's just how it is in any team based online game. However you will play an equal amount of unlosable games, maybe you don't recognize them as such and think you are a hero but the paint drinkers aren't always on your team and when they're on the enemy team, you simply cannot lose. This is common sense, these will average in the long term(in the short term you might lose a lot of games due to shitty players and not win in compensation). What matter is the games inbetween. They might only be like 33% of the game, if that, but those are the games were your skill makes the difference. If you're a much better player than the other players in that game, then you will win. If you're a worse player, you will lose. If you're where you belong, you will win or lose relatively the same.

That's all there is to it really, you can only work on winning the games that can be won. The further your skill is from the actual game average skill, the less unwinnable games there are simply by virtue of being able to compensate for more. But if you're like in say Bronze and think you belong in like Silver, the skill difference isn't really big so you can only make the difference on a few games. Just need to keep playing so the auto win games balance out the ones you lose and make the difference when it matters.

Obviously, that's assuming you don't belong where you are. Yes the unwinnable games are way way worse at lower tier but that doesn't mean you don't belong there if you can't reliably win the rest of the games. Basically, you need to look at it like this. Yes you're better than the paint drinkers, because who the fuck is not. But if you're not better than every single other player in the game, then you're not very far from your skill level/where you belong. And if you're only slightly better than the next best player, then you're only slightly under your skill level.

Whats your ign, Guardian?
Ignacious

Adding also, I know my games aren't 100% flawless. I know everyone even the pros have room for improvement and those that aren't pros have much LARGER points to improve upon.

In cases where the game is hard to Unwinable I usually try off the wall things to try and get the team back into the game.

I'd let someone do that but define a few games. I've never once tried to say I only get teams of trolls or that they're always on my team. Out of 25 games, though, i'd say 10 have trolls/leavers on my team, 10 have it on the other team and the other 5 games are troll-free games which could be steamrolls or they could be close games. They tend to come in streaks, though, which is why I (and i'm sure a lot of other people) call it 'elo hell' or whatever other name you want to put on it.

A few days ago I lost probably 10 of 12 games and dropped from ~50 LP in bronze 3 to 64 LP in bronze 4. Then I won 6 in a row to get promoted back to bronze 3 and the first game I played after that promotion was the one I mentioned earlier with the fantastic duo of nidalee + annie.

I doubt anyone would get it up to silver V even if I gave it to them for a couple weeks tho unless they're duoing with another good player.

Yeah, boost him up to Silver (which is what he's being saying all along), so he can suck in that bracket and bring everyone else down, while never getting demoted back into Bronze. No. Just say. No.

Example:

My last game picks

Top: Lee Sin X Nasus
Mid: Akali X Gangplank
Jungle: Fiddlesticks X Fizz
ADC: Twitch X Miss Fortune
Support: Thresh X Jarvan

Outcome:

I was playing against Gangplank in mid and did pretty bad. Having fid gank 2 times by running at GP with 30% health and both jungle buffs dropping them off on my lane matchup didn't help either. Either way, I farmed up and then started doing smart plays by waiting til positioning wasn't in their favor and attacking their back line.

We ended up winning.

Drawbacks:

Fiddle was terrible, at one point I suggest that he wait til 6 to gank and he agrees. Once he reached level 6 he runs from the bushes and silences GP and then runs a tad closer to confuse and stands in a blindspot to both river bush and sidelane. Fizz ults him from 2 feet away and GP crits him, passing over double buffs for the 2nd time, I asked him to just farm.

Lee wasn't so kind, he dove right in with the "Worst player in history" in spite of himself handing nasus 5 kills by that point. Lee then proceeded to follow fid around the jungle last hitting anything he could. This then progressed to lee following even the fed bot lane around the jungle as twitch moved to get things like red buff and finally following me around when I would kill the occasional jungle camp.

Overall:

In spite of all of this we won.

The ultimate thing is, it doesn't FEEL like a win. A win should be a thing that makes players think "Man my team and I sure worked hard together for that and we all overcame any obstacles that we in front of us as a team!" I'm not so naive to think that ALL wins are this of course. What this game feels like on MANY occasions is "I dragged this ungrateful asshole through hell and back and secured a win for him and my team, I'm pretty sure if he met me on the street RIGHT NOW he would tell me he fucked my mom."

I know I know, online games and all. I have played many competitive games from youth til now and it still amazes me just how shit people will be to other people ON THEIR OWN GOD DAMN TEAM IN A TEAM BASED ENVIRONMENT. People just can't seem to grasp the concept that maybe starting "constructional criticism" with "Hey faggotface" or maybe reference to a minority is counter-constructive to team progression.

Sounds like a rough game but I still feel like some of you are playing a different league of legends than I log into. My last couple of games were outliers as well, but only in one of my last ten games did anyone engage in what I would consider super hardcore suckmode and it was on the enemy team(2-14 ap yi mid) who along with his team was almost carried super hard by lategame Vayne. In only one of my last ten was anyone a raging idiot who had nothing productive or useful to say(mordekaiser in one of my nami games) and even then the game was very winnable and if I had made better calls all game we could have won.

A lot of you guys don't understand how the brackets work. It is all superficial and doesn't mean anything. If you're in a tier 5 it has no bearing at all on who you play with. If someone were to boost Wizardhawk to Silver 5 he would shortly be back playing against Bronze 3-5 again. Matchmaking Rating is the ONLY thing that affects who you play with and just because you can't lose your 5th division rating doesn't at all mean that you're always playing against other Silver 5's. As you lose more and more you'll start playing against Bronze 1's, then 2's, then down, down, down.

Oh, we're aware. Why do you think there's such variance in the top tier of promo games? It's quite likely that there's a number of people with ELOs below what they should have and fuck up games for everyone else. If you're not a part of the solution, you're a part of the problem. Only once his MMR bottoms out at Bronze V again, will the promo rank be safe.

Well, that's true. It would temporarily disrupt some games but in general boosting is a very limited problem and is rare enough that I don't consider it too big of a deal.

Then we've come full circle, and the real reason people get stuck in a bracket is because they aren't good enough to climb out themselves.

Game recap:

rrr_img_38112.jpg

First go at not having flash on Kassadin, did...okay. I would combo kennen, combo Morg, Combo Corki and ignore mundo. I really don't know why I didn't have any assists. I was a part of every major team fight save for one dumb fuck engage they did in mid. Malph and everyone were running and then malph ults ONE person. "We were running away" was his remark after, "you can't run from morg kennen."

Team did not so much so, took on the role of warding my shit and the shit around me every back and my area was lit up WELL. Didn't stop bot lane from never warding during lane phase and getting camped 24/7 by people like Morg (I followed her, people still would do shit like...stand next to river with 10% health) and mundo.

taric then starts yelling at ryze for some unknown reason (ryze was doing fine and was positive til lane ended and he somehow became a melee champion).

Cait had the same issue as ryze late game, she had the "everyone stand on malph and attack" syndrome. Against a HEAVY ae comp...ya.

playing lulu, typical build.

As usual no one wards early game but me and you can see a few deaths but overall the game was a stomp.

On bot lane we were basically dominating them early and shutting ez out of early gold. Cait got caught on one bad gank from jar and was chasing down taric over staying near the tower and working down trundle. Other than that, this was a rough game for their team. Misplays a TON on their side.

Which is annoying, because I was playing vs. Plat players leading up and into my gold promo series as a Silver I.
Might help explain how you get promotions when you're getting paired with plat players and in silver and why you don't see the shits that some of us get to deal with. Back when the game first came out I was approx 1700-1850 mmr/elo based on who I was matching up with and there were way less trolls (also probably a side effect of the player base being much smaller).

Wizard, you really need to record some of these games and throw them on youtube just like Celebrindal did. Probably later today I'll check out that vod of his just to see how his first jungle game went lol. I mean, he's playing j4, he probably got first blood then just snowballed from that because j4 with early kills is a complete monster! That's my guess!

My first jungle game in Gold.
I'm currently watching it, at 31:53 right now and wanted to make a comment before I forget.

You were doing really good early game, then you bought hydra and locket and have yet to activate either item from what I can tell. Tiamat/Hydra is on a 10 second cooldown, use them on every camp when jungling when you first get them before your EQ- combo one shots all the little dudes. It'll save you an auto attack, or two, worth of time on each camp. Then, later when your E-Q starts one shotting little dudes in each camp, you can either use hydra active to save mana, or E-Q, whichever you prefer.

You've had 2-3 teamfights since buying the locket at this point in the video, and I haven't seen it used yet. I might have missed one use, but it's definitely not being utilized correctly. You personally had a significant gold edge over most of the other team, but then when you bought these items and didn't utilize their actives, you essentially gave up most of your gold edge. You'll notice your team started losing ground after you bought both items. Had you just something like gone aegis/black cleaver, you probably would have kept owning them.

I had the same issue with tiamat/hydra for awhile jungling on wukong, but then I realized how low the cooldown was, I made a point of moving it to hotkey 1 and just going E+1+Q to kill most camps in two seconds. It'd always be up for ganks/teamfights as well, since it'd take almost 10 seconds just to walk to the fight/lane from any jungle camp.

I'm gonna finish rest of your match, I'm guessing you still pull out a win, and you've played really good other then missing the actives a bit. It's clear you are better then their nunu, and their team seems to be raging a little at each other. Your MF is a little weak, but Zac follows up your engages pretty well so far, and once nami stops whiffing ult and holds it till you and zac engage to hit whole team, I have a feeling you'll get an ace or something. I can't imagine you woulda bothered posting a link to a game your team just threw, but let's see.
