Speaking of refining oil, in the special featurette about the vehicles, one of them actually refines oil as they drive (in the story, not IRL I'm sure) so they can refill everyone on the way. They thought of everything in this movie.

The band on the truck was one of the smartest touches of the film for me. It's all about Immortan Joe showing his power and strength ( resources and people ) that he can even have musicians playing his troops into battle.

There's been a long history of having a band playing with your troops. It helps to fire them up, feel the importance of what they're about to do, for King and country etc. Even as 'recent' as WWII there were bagpipers going ashore right with the Scottish soldiers during the D-day landings. It's only during modern warfare, that it's been dropped. Long frontlines, longer wars, newer ideas like stealth etc etc.

That was one of the most awesome scenes in the movie. It was epic, the music fucking rocked and just got you more pumped and hyped keeping you on the edge of your seat. I don't know about any of you but seeing the guy playing guitar and hearing that music just makes me want to stand up and whip out the air guitar and bang my head.

I don't always pirate music, but when I do its because my wife bought it for me on itunes and I refuse to use their ecosystem. The sound track is awesome- it's actually a bit more expanded than what we got in the movie, but that's expected.

Timeline theory aside...but not aside because this seems to be "some time" after the actual whole world destruction nuclear thing (after MM1, before MM2) -- as there are starting to be birth defects and a lot fallout issues - moreso than what is alluded to in MM2 or 3 - so... having seen Get the Gringo and Expendables 3 - Mel would have been fine for this- in those movies he actually looked better than he did in 3/thunderdome
