And thanks to Harry Crane, of all people!

I really loved how Don's experience finally at least paid off in his pitch. It might not amount to anything, but at least now he knows where the battle lines are drawn between the partners. I wonder if Lou's little side project might come back to bite him in the ass?

First off, the threesome is probably what I'll jerk off to for the rest of my life. They are all too damn pretty.

And finally Don makes a move. I am hoping that two weeks from now we see the end of Lou. He can't even take orders!

This week on mad men: Everybody is a GIANT asshole. heh.

Threesome was ok! I want her, but can't have her. Why?

I kinda wonder what they're gonna do with Michael. He's getting really nuts.

Yeah thats been a long time coming. Sad to see him go. I liked him. Poor Stan is going to be all alone.

I think this is the start of the end...we will see characters leaving, dying, moving on.

I thought everything outside of Don in this episode was pretty dumb. Draper made up for it though.

Loved to see Don being a boss again.

Who was the pregnant chick, how did she know he is Dick Whitman, and did Megan know that she's not really his niece? It seemed like Megan used girl speech to intentionally get her to leave. Is that why Megan broke down at the end? That whole thing with the pregnant girl confused me

That girl shows up the last time Don was in California when he finds out Anna Draper (the real Don Draper's widow) has cancer. She is actually Anna's niece and Don got flirty with her but without anything actually happening. I get a little foggy here too, but I believe Megan has some sort of understanding of who Don really is as she's wearing Anna's ring and is aware of her. Probably from the trip she took to CA with Don and the kids prior to getting hitched.

Anyway, Megan got jealous assuming Don has probably been all up in any cute girl he's ever talked to. Paid her to leave without seeing Don. I was pretty sympathetic to Megan until this episode where she just comes across as crazy.

Megan knows all about Don's past, he came clean with her. Which is why Megan's attitude towards Stephanie instantly changed once she made clear that she knew all about him. Megan has to fight for every scrap of intimacy she gets, especially now, from Don and with this girl he just has this relationship that Megan has to practically beg for. So she sabotages that and tries to make Don jealous at that party, which doesn't work, then tries to ply Don with a threesome, which also doesn't work. It also betrays how little Megan really cares about Don's life and happiness, she understands how important this aspect of Don's family is to him (or she should) and she fucks it up anyway out of some stupid schoolgirl jealousy shit because she has to share Don's secret.

Apparently Episode 8 this season is called "Waterloo". That makes me sad, because it probably means Don loses.

As someone else on the web pointed out, Don is currently back from exile.

It's going to depend; Cutler could be considered Napoleon as well. He was invited into the agency during a time of trouble (They lost Jag and were scrambling for Chevy); Napoleon returned from Egypt to a French government that was flailing and in a bad position--he then used the chaos to make himself the leader (through tricks of administration/personnel and "lawyering" governance documents) very much like the methods Cutler used (Invited in during chevy, uses the chaos to cull most of Don's power, even gets his name off the door and then was instrumental in ousting him). If Don wins big on the 7th episode finale; and banishes Cutler, then Waterloo will be Cutler's attempt to take Don down again.

However, yeah, there is some symbolism behind Don by Napoleon (Of course). However; Wiener said this in an interview.

No. What I was trying to show last year, and I'm not sure the country was in the mood for it because we were in that state, was that the culture had caught up to Don. The culture was impulsive and carnal and on the brink of disaster for all of 1968. Then, just like the French Revolution ended with Napoleon, this revolution ended with Nixon back in the White House. My fascination has been about what hasn't changed despite all those activities. I was trying to show that Don was very much aware of what was going on and, like everyone else in the culture, felt a sense of anxiety and instability and despair about the possibility of change and it being thwarted. Don's facade has been punctured and the facade of the United States has been punctured. We had lost our confidence.

Maybe we don't turn to entertainment for that all the time. We turn to entertainment for images of justice and revenge and power, and last season was an exercise in showing this man was a mess. [Laughs.] Maybe that's where he had to get to to confront himself.
Remember how Cutler was welcomed by Ginserberg? Called him an unfeeling fascist tyrant (Or whatever). Essentially, after all the revolution in the office to prevent them from becoming a huge uncaring agency like Mccain Ericson (By dodging Duck's leadership and then leaving SC to avoid the ME buyout directly)--the new agency ended up with a dip shit "money man" like Cutler in charge, who represents a lot of what they "revolted" against. (Like the U.S. got Nixxon after the 60's; or the French revolution got Napoleon). So I really think Cutler is the Napoleon here; a lot of evidence points to it.

(Of course, it could be Don, it really depends on how the finale 2 episodes go--But I really hope it isn't.)

FUCK YEAH DON IS BACK

between Scout the magic Negro comics, awesomely insane Ginsberg, Tea Party Betty, Fuck Your Meeting Don, and Threesome (BONUS ROUND: REDHEAD) that was a fantastic episode. Really sucks only 3 more episodes and then a year wait for the final 8, can't even imagine what more can happen.
