This is a great line of thinking and it also may be why we were shown two scenes in the last episode where Roger has to contemplate his friendship with Don vs. his business interests.

Sweet we have a thread for this! Surprised so few people are interested.

One of the top Episodes of the past 3 seasons IMO. Loved the interaction between Don and Peggy, contrasted with Don and Megan who are clearly not going to end well.

The scene ending with Don and Peggy dancing to "my way" was fantastic. part of me always wants them to get together. I doubt it but who knows.

Also any voting Don out of the company would include Don in the vote. I think the new creative director guy gets pwned by Don and friends soon.

anyone know if the season finale is airing next weekend (25th) or are they taking the week off like everyone else for Memorial day

hope its not a cliffhanger situation, episode title is Waterloo so could be referencing Don's downfall (as napoleon) or a clever wordplay on Lou the new director

I think it's a pun on lou's waterloo (downfall) I don't see another Draper crash and burn next episode personally.

I guess like Napoleon Don was exiled and has come rearing back with some of his former supporters joining so maybe it references that too... But I really don't see another Don breakdown.

the last scene from the episode was such an amazing imagery. Surrounded by families, Don, Peggy, and Pete are eating meals together like a family (And it is where they can truly be comfortable...and be themselves and be accepted for it) also, a transition into a modern era where home cooks are no longer as important as it once were...

jesus, mad men is truly the greatest tv show.

BETTER THAN THE WIRE.

Great episode. Don and Peggy being friends again makes me much happier than a relationship between fictional people should. I hope that they don't wind up in a romantic relationship but I don't think they will. Their relationship is based on mutual respect between coworkers and I can't really recall anything like it on TV before but it is really great.

And we thought Ginsberg was bad with women. "You're old and I'm the best you can hope for!" really puts "Peggy, we have to reproduce!" to shame. Makes me think Bob is just gay by necessity.

It's well beyond mutual respect of co-workers. They both see themselves as outsiders. Successful, yet set apart from the world they inhabit. Pete Campbell is the same in a way. Thats part of why the final scene was so great. The part of me that got engaged to my one time best friend wants them to be together, if only to see how it works. Could be a fantastic storyline.

I liked the wire but I think Mad Men is a much better show. It shows the agony and ecstasy of everyday existence like nothing else. We are very lucky to be living in a period of many exceptional TV shows compared to 20 or 30 years ago.

Show is so good. The Peggy/Don stuff was excellent. The Pete stuff was awesome. The ending was also very good. One of the better episodes for this show, which is very consistently good.

They don't have enough time left to do a Peggy/Don match any sort of justice. That would take them an entire season at least.

As sweet as that could potentially be, I think the Peggy/Don relationship is, and has been since season 2, solidly a mentor relationship. It can be affectionate, it can even be loving, but not romantic.

It was great that Don seemed to realize he doesn't have to swallow his pride to work for Peggy. The pride is in the work itself. He worked out a kink.

So Megan is definitely leaving Don. And Harry as a partner balances out the voting for Don, which is something that Cutler may not have accounted for. And I don't see Chaough voting Don out.

I was very happy with this episode. I always love Peggy, even the past few weeks when she has been feeling sorry for herself.

According to the internets the season finale will be playing this weekend.

Yeah. I think they definitely love each other, but not in a romantic way and since both of them are pretty much incapable of sustaining a romantic relationship, I would rather see them just remain friends and be a great team. The two of them starting their own agency with Pete might be the closest thing to a happy ending this show could have.

I got the feeling of Don dancing with Peggy as more a father/daughter type vibe than a lovers vibe. Peggy was somewhat freaking out so Don just took her hand and danced with her to calm her down a bit. I would actually be quite annoyed if Don and Peggy became a match since it goes against both their character profiles to be together.

Pete transformed from the smug bastard we all hated to the smug bastard we all love. Personally, I think I came around to liking him just after he got knocked the fuck out by Lane.

*Edit* Wow, I was positive that Brittany Snow was the actress playing Bonnie, but I looked it up just now and it isn't. She looks exactly like her, however. It's freakish how uncanny the resemblance is.
