Uh 90% of the destruction was done by the gravity thing. Another 5% by multiple missile launches from the raptors that hit the ground and lets not forget the falling jets because they thought they just needed to get closer(lol). The actual fight between zod and superman didn't really do that much comparatively.I don't recall seeing a Superman like this that recklessly engaged in the destruction of a city. .
Which is funny because before watching it, critics and the babies here made it seem like him and zod did all the damage while fighting and seemed to do it on purpose.
This is what happens when 2 super powered beings(of equal strength/powers) fight in literally dead central of a metropolitan city with no prior warning or time to evacuate. Which hasn't been really done in a super hero movie. Maybe in comics/cartoons, but this is the first I can remember it in a big movie release and its about time.
