Sunday dinner is a guinea requirement.
Always pasta, ravioli or lasagna and some sort of super guido fried peppers, cheese, deli meats and home pickled veggies first. Also always salad after main course, the complete opposite of what all my firends did.

Also wine mixed with sprite for the kiddos. Ahhhh.

My parents both worked full time and raised 5 kids(and also kept the house clean). I feel like my siblings and I definitely were taking care of each other a lot, but I don't feel like my parents were missing in action.

Here's the wife of a good friend of mine, this morning. I couldn't help myself with the comment. The best part is that her husband is the one who liked the comment.

While I don't agree with T&T's philosophy on marriage roles and raising kids, I don't see why we're giving them a bunch of shit or taking potshots at them. Ease up, this is a place where we can all be bros (or lady-bros) and discuss why we suck at relationships and ply ourselves with booze, self-loathing and harboring resentment for our partners because we're aspie as fuck. Well, maybe I'm projecting a little there. Whatevs.

I don't feel there have been potshots, really. This thread(and community) is not really known for coddling.

Even if homeschooling is successful smarts wise, you're still going to have a boring weirdo with poor moderation and trolling abilities.

My wife stays at home, I really don't mind as long as I don't have to.

For my part anyway, my comments to trex are the result of seeing her exact arrangement blow up over and over, and if she'll make decisions now she can avoid that. It's not concern trolling it's just saying, hey I've seen this blow up and it doesn't work and you should think about it.

It could work out for her, and I hope it does. But I think a person should always be thinking what if.

I was pretty vague there; it wasn't directed at you. That was valid feedback. A couple of others were just kind of shitting on them. They've been posting better lately (at least in the threads I've read), so I thought I'd encourage that progress.

OK I don't think I've ever actually asked for advice here but time to take a break from shitposting and ask.

Have any of you actually had the discussion with your wife about why they dont do the share of housework that is their job? My experience is conversations like this are rarely a net benefit but holy fuck those dishes need to get washed.

Right now I'm debating: conversation or block Facebook at the router and play dumb... is it possible to have this conversation without drama?

My suggestion to try this with out a drama argument. Tell her the pile of dishes is hurting your ability to relax and/ or concentrate and can you do them together. Try that a few times and see if you can't get her back into a routine.

I know it's not your job but she might be in a rut and need some help getting out of it. You can focus on it's not fair or you can focus on helping your partner out of her current mindset.

I was homeschooled my freshman year of highschool. I pretty much wanted access to play EQ more lulz. I'd never ever let my kids do it though. I lost all contact with my friends for that year and became a social retard and immediately asked to be placed back in a real school the following year.

So growing up, we had 9 kids in my family. I'm second oldest. All kids younger than me were homeschooled for their entire time. I attended at least 8 different public schools and one private school (we moved a lot). My parents homeschooled me for 1.5 years until I threw a huge fit and said no more.

My experience was that I couldnt make any friends without going to school, and I was miserable. Now its worth noting that I'm inherently socially retarded. I needed the extra help of going to school with kids to make friends. All my younger brothers and sisters are perfectly well adjusted socially and dont seem to have been hurt at all by a lifetime of homeschooling (and one is a medical doctor, so it didnt hurt them academically either).

Homeschooling is terrible for some kids and perfectly fine for others. Keep the kids in mind and if theyre socially retarded like me, put their asses in school ASAP.

I'll never homeschool my kids. Theyre too likely to take after their dad.

I love having no job. Living the dream. I don't understand why so many people have kids just so someone else can raise them, my parents included.
Totally agree, 110%. Cant understand letting someone else raise our kids. I wont judge people too harshly if they do it but fuck no, my wife and I are raising our kids.

Jesus. Loosen the purse strings. 69 in the summer. 72 in the winter. No exceptions.
Dont understand, is this a typo? Thermostats should be set lower in the winter and higher in the summer to save energy. 68 winter, 72 summer.

You mean just your wife right? Because you can't raise your kids because you have a job.

I actually do have a lot of guilt about this, and do what I can. I do the whole bedtime ritual (stories etc, >1 hr) every night. And I spend quality time with the kids on weekends. And still, feel guilty I'm not doing enough with them.

But yeah, thats why I said "my wife and I"... and shes doing most of it. I wish my job left more time for the kids... >60 hours a week makes it hard.
Those kids are gonna' suck at chores.
LOL yes
