There isn't really any management for fibro. It's an excuse to give white women painkillers.

In the 50's and 60's they gave them valium for the asking.

It's real enough, I guess? If it's not then almost half of all women are degenerate addicts.

She grew up in Ukraine. Suffice to say the primary difference I've noticed is that she has an extremely clear and firm belief on what constitutes as Man shit and Woman shit. Thus, anything that falls into my category she fully expects me to do 100% and any expectation that she should help is patently absurd and pisses her off. This is actually quite beneficial most of the time because she doesn't bother asking questions about Man Shit and has zero problem cleaning up, laundry, repairing clothes, and whatever else. Although I never minded doing it myself.

A nice change from dealing with American women and what I refer to as Disney Princess syndrome. Where everything becomes an argument as the expectation is that you just do what she wants. Got real tired of that shit after awhile. Many women seem to suffer from it.

As far as finances we keep them separate. I manage all bills, and investments and she just saves as much cash as possible as there are a number of major purchases in Ukraine she wants to make next year that all require cash only. Like a flat, and some other things. After that I'll be getting her on my investment to cash ratio... or trying to. But cash is king where she grew up and it will probably be hard to shake that off her.

Why is your lady buying land in Ukraine? Taking care of family?

One of her life goals is owning her own flat in Kyiv. Even if she doesn't live there. A good one near city center only runs like $60k and will also have the secondary benefit of providing for her mom via rents.

Any decent doctor now will he careful with a Fibro diagnosis. It’s a legit disease though, saying it’s not is just ignorant.

Has it been a crutch for bad doctors for years? Yes. Can good doctors still diagnose it with careful consideration and work? Yes.
Absolutely legit but it's still a diagnoses of exclusion and someone should have a full workup by multiple specialists before settling with fibro. GP shouldn't make that call.

Ah interesting. Ive heard Ukrainian women are very old fashion in that aspect (I like that). How'd you meet her? No shame if it was mail order.

So you fell on her?

Alternate: So she really IS an angel that fell from heaven?

Either way:

At least my 'tumor in the pre-frontal cortex' idea was somewhat fresh. Shame on you chumps for just going after the 'shes cheating' low hanging fruit.

Technically, she's going after the low hanging fruit. We're just watching and throwing poop at Noodle.

I'm trying to teach mine to wash dishes.
Just wait for the next gen Roomba that Japan is going to invent. Your house will be clean, your nuts will be drained, and you can make it look like Lucy Liu.

I keep giving her attention but she keeps saying no!

I'm honestly not a doctor, I know I'm not educated enough to make that kind of call. I can be suspicious of the method of diagnosing, the rise in popularity, and the lifetime membership. But I'm not sit here and say "yeah, I know it ain't that".
Ask her for an open relationship. She'll either be good with it knowing she can't please you that way anymore because of her disease, or she'll leave. Or just keep bottling up the resentment and make sure you have a way of disposing of a body handy.

That makes sense. How many jumps do you have? I should get back into it, it's been two years since my last jump.

Honest question: how often do open relationships work? I don't think humans are wired to handle it.

Not well, usually. My sister's first husband tried that. She wasn't down with it and bailed. Both parties have to be really committed to each other for it to work out. The few times it does is usually from horrible diseases like fibro or accidents leading to things like paraplegia.

Honest answer: not very.

If by work you mean both people are happy.

If there is a medical condition involved then just the fact of requiring the relationship to be open will most likely be internalized as either a personal failure or a failure on their partners part. Because no matter how kind you make the words it is a rejection. It may be a completely practical observation... but it is also a rejection.

I won't say it can't ever work because sometimes it can. The arrangements between two people are their own. Or three or five or however many. But usually, and it's a significant usually not like 51%, it's only going to be an intermediary fail state. It's a reformulation of a contract, the terms of that contract are not often explicitly stated.

It takes more trust than most people have, and it takes more self confidence than an infirm person is likely to have.

I mean I've been married for 5 years so Ive come into a skill where I can listen to nagging and then not do what she says.
I've been married 11, and I completely relate. Solid marriage life skill. Listen attentively, then put it out of my head completely and don't worry about it. In very much the same way that I don't actually spend time worrying about my parenting skills after my 5 year old tells me I'm the worst dada ever for not getting her candy.

It’s a legit disease though, saying it’s not is just ignorant.

Nothing crazy about saying their are ailments that we don't fully understand, with FM standing strongly in that category. However, it gained this stigma because there are 1000s of women out there who have something wrong with them and it isn't this thing we call FM and don't fully understand. Every medical professional out there will tell you that there are people who create their own problems and the number of people doing that vs the the number legitimately suffering from a rare and not understood disease is vast. It remains today a catch all diagnosis of, "I can't find anything physically wrong with you".

It's similar to Lyme's which we didn't understand that well at all just a decade or two ago and there are people who suffered with it's symptoms for years without doctors understanding or thinking to test for Lyme's.

The medical community is very much in the "we don't understand this" stage so your statement implying it's a fully fleshed out disease and any belief otherwise is "ignorant" well kinda seems ignorant.

I imagine they are probably at least as successful as relationships with 0 sex.
