It sounds retarded, but take a mental count of how many of you or your friends wives keep within driving distance of their mothers and call them constantly. It might be a function of older generations, though. Women in my age bracket did not have Twitter or Facebook as a venting outlet. The rest of that quote stems from personal observations after being a wedding singer for around 40 or so weddings. I got to watch this whole mother dynamic where the mom instills their anxieties into their daughters first hand multiple times when nerves are most raw.

Now that might sound disrespectful because I am only talking about women, but guys pulls the same shit in other ways about other things. But this isn't a bunch of women bitching about how their husbands surf porn and watch sports all the time. This is a bunch of men chaffing at the reigns with a little dick waving mixed in from the bachelors.

Edit- Full disclosure: My days singing in weddings were in the late 80s and for mostly Catholic of Lutheran weddings in the heart of Polish/German Wisconsin. I have just noticed the same shit living out here in Cali the last decade.

It's not just hyperbole. Phaz is painting very broad strokes in almost every post he's made in the last two pages. That quote above doesn't describe a single woman I know. He's describing psychologically abusive behavior and then painting all women like that. My mom doesn't treat either of my sisters even remotely like that. No girl I've ever dated in any serious capacity(~10) was like that or had a mother like that. I totally agree therearewomen like that, but to drop it like that's sage advice for all(or even most), is...like I said...fucking retarded.

My step-mom got her marching orders from her mom until the day her mom died. They had my dad tossed in jail following a heated argument when he was just sitting drinking a beer on his porch. The sheriff came up and claimed he was disturbing the peace, etc., but they live like 10 miles out of town and no one lives within a half-mile of them. My step-mom's family owns like 30% of the land in that county and has a series of dairy farms, so the sheriff doesn't mind doing them favors. I don't get along with my step-mom or my dad, but she's a dumbass that does whatever her family and the bible tell her to. If not for my step-sister still living with them I expect my dad would have divorced her.

Every churchy girl I've dated was stuck up her mom's ass too. I learned my lesson. The moment I realize someone I'm dating or interested in is a bible-thumper, it's done. If I wanted to have a relationship with some 60 year old woman, I'd just do that.

The generalization might be unfair, but it fits my experience well.

But hey I know you well enough to know you don't let shit like this go, so lets just agree that you can accept that I feel a lot of women listen to their mom's bullshit too much based on personal experience. And in return I will accept that you would rather pull the ripcord on a decade relationship than sacrifice time and money to have a kid. Then we can both move forward with the discussion.

I don't know enough about Soy's personal business to comment, but if every women he knows avoids the mom tether, more power to him. In fact, some of you single dudes in here should be hitting him up for his sister's address because those are keepers.

I actually agree with you there. Luckily my wife is like me on that front, but if she had wanted kids I would have given in. Instead we get to spend all that money doing fun shit and owing our own toys. Thank the flying spaghetti monster that I married a woman nerdier than I am.

A mother who pounds her insecurities into her daughter has issues. Normal, well-adjusted adults don't do that to their kids. Like I said, I totally agree there are women like that, I totally disagree that it's most or a common thing. Now both you and Agraza have mentioned "churchy" folks in the last couple of pages. I'll admit to(thankfuly) having little to no experience with bible thumpers. Maybe that's a common thread.

His desire for equality? They had, quite literally, an irreconcilable difference in that they were of opposite opinions on the subject of kids. Take your stupid red pill bullshit and fuck right off with it.

I have no fucking clue why two people who were so far apart on such a major issue would think that marriage was a wise idea.

EDIT - On the mother's insecurities thing, I agree that it seems to be a generalization made mostly toward religious households. I went to a Christian private school from grades 8-12 and all the girls had moms just like that.
