A Mod Real Quick
Wife's been home for like 6 months now with the baby. Tonight she starts working 3 nights a week (9PM-2AM, just part time). Am I a bad person for being a little grateful for the break?

You'd be a bad person if you had a craigslist hooker over there at 9:01pm.Wife's been home for like 6 months now with the baby. Tonight she starts working 3 nights a week (9PM-2AM, just part time). Am I a bad person for being a little grateful for the break?
Is that the one where you offer to help them with their homework?Only if you plan to use the SamDaMan discount.
After being married almost ten years I've found that balance is the key to happiness. I think of my interactions with my wife like an MMO reputation system. Maintaining high rep is a constant grind and not a very realistic goal because you will lose rep over time, and the quests that lower your rep are way more fun than the quests that raise it. If I know something is coming down the pipe that's gonna cost a significant amount of rep I'll grind up a sufficient amount in the weeks leading up to the event. However, I do throw in the occasional random act of rep gain to ensure she doesn't think that everything I do is just compensating for impending rep loss.Wife's been home for like 6 months now with the baby. What do you do if your rep gets so low you become KOS?After being married almost ten years I've found that balance is the key to happiness. I know it sounds like a joke, but this system has worked very well for me. She's happy because I make an active effort to do things I know she appreciates, even if she's aware that sometimes my efforts aren't entirely altruistic. Obviously if you let your wife in on the game, you're going to lose... so don't do that. But playing the reputation game has allowed me much more free time for the activities that I enjoyed prior to having our children than the vast majority of dudes I know.
